Most of the year, I rarely eat ice cream. But when June rolls around, I start eating it again. And by this time of the year, I'm going on an ice cream bender almost every weekend.

I like vanilla chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, and neapolitan. My new favorite though is the Haagen-Daz Vanilla Fudge Brownie. One pint for Saturday, one pint for Sunday.

Oh yeah...it's ice cream season.

Anybody else got favorites?

Here in St. Louis, we are privledged to have Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. He's been in buisness for nearly 50 years, and makes the best frozen custard anywhere!

We try out all sorts of new flavors; a particularly tasty one we had recently is Edy's Girl Scout Cookie ice cream made with the various cookie types.

There was a "sprint-run" if you will of a raspberry serbet (sp) swirled into vanilla. Bryers/Dryers, I forget.

That was the best, EVER!

And that reminds me I got some orange dreamcicles stuffs in the fridge. AND I'M OFF!!!

WOOOOOOSSSSHHHHH!

I have a fondness for mint chocolate chip, cookies n cream and some new flavor called moose tracks. I also have type 2 diabetes and I think I'm lactose intolerant, also have a good amount of weight I'm trying to lose, so, ice cream may be gone forever.

Of course, the way I used to eat it two years ago, about 5 scoops melted with a piece of cake on birthdays probably had something to do with my current maladies.

I don't eat that much ice cream but I love pineapple milk shakes. Vanilla ice cream and pineapple topping yuum.

Ice cream I don't like. Peanut butter. Why I ever got that flavor I'll never know. Oh yeah, I was 12.

I'm also Type 2. Used to hate low sugar/no sugar added ice creams, but Breyers now has 'Carb Smart', and I think that's pretty good. Not many flavors yet, but if you get creative with crushed nuts or fresh fruit. It's a way to still have the pleasure without spiking the meter.

I don't have a problem with maybe a scoop here, or a scoop there, my sugar stays fine, and I don't feel sick as a dog the next morning. My problem is over indulgence. But I'll check out that Breyers Carb Smart the next birthday party I go to. Might actually have some strawberry ice cream that actually tastes like strawberries :).

Yam ice cream. Yummy purple.

However you can't get that here in the UK so i settle for the soft ice cream from the ice cream van when he comes around.

Don't quite like haagen dasz. Too creamy. I prefer ben and jerry's.

Type II diabetes as well, so I go very easy on the ice cream. When I do decide to indulge, it's usually fruit flavored ice cream.

Just outside of Calgary, in the town of Cochrane we have McKay's :) They have more than a few that can be favorites. One of my favorites is one called Tiger, which is orange with licorice swirls :D One of the most different ones that I had, was a few years ago when I was golfing in the interior of BC, and had one with crushed chili peppers in it. It was surprisingly good :)

I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to ice cream , my fave is Breyers strawberry which , I think is the most homemade tasting ice cream I have had outside of homemade.

Iiiiiiiicccccceeeee ccccrreeeaaaaaammmmm!!!!!

Vanilla is always a good bet, and I prefer a more intense taste like chocolate brownie chocolate ice cream, when it comes to chocolate.

Mango ice cream is good for the occasional change of pace.

A local ice cream parlor once had Jack Daniels bourbon ice cream. That made the best milk shake I've had in years! :D

National: Ben & Jerry's 'Very Cherry Jerry Garcia'

Local: Demetre's "Cappucino"

(Demetre's is a Toronto 'chain' of 6 dessert places. Each location makes all of the ice cream they serve in their basement. I have never tasted a 'smoother' ice cream anywhere in the world.)

If you guys ever come to Mexico city, I suggest that you look for "La Siberia" shops and try the typical Mexican flavors such as "Mamey" or "Cajeta".

There are a lot of shops that sell "nieve" which is water based, with lots of flavors, you may want to try something exotic like "Zapote" or the typical "Tequila". If you are worried about the water don't get it from street vendors.

I had to look that up to see what frozen custard is. It sounds like the custard has egg yolks and is denser than regular ice cream.

But was it "forum blue" color...:D

Snickers Icecream bars and Snickers Icecream cones. Reeses Icecream. Butter Pecan icecream. None of them in my freezer, my neighbor has my stash.
You need some of that extra sustenance - especially on lawn mowing days, if you got that thing running now...:)

I like a cake cone with a scoop of each.
I also much prefer the cake cone over the pointed-bottom variety (sugar cone?). The cake cone has a more neutral flaver so I can taste the ice cream.

I'm fortunate to have no health or weight issues. Probably due to the fact that I exercise a lot, but mostly just lucky genetics.

Some interesting flavor suggestions to watch for. Sounds like most every region has some good local stuff. I'm more of a traditionalist like rebeltf, but I'd try these that people mentioned - at least once, anyway.

Don Luis, what kind of flavorings are used in the Mexican varieties?
