Anyone care to copy and paste CRK official post on the "Idaho Made" stamp?

I have a copy of Chris's post in my post 1 page back
The original is on page 5 of the Idaho Made Poll (proper) thread

? no new ideas on Stamps

I think it should be on the lock side, oriented the same as the CR logo, lettering featuring "Idaho" on top "USA" on bottom. Although I still maintain it diminishes the designs artistic merits.

One last time: Go to the post by Josh K titled...."Poll:Idaho Made Pole(Proper)

go to page 5 post # 85.

thanks Adamar! here's my idea. it might work better if you replace the state of Idaho with an outline of the USA but whatver, same idea

If there has to be a stamp, this would be my choice. Not sure about the placement, but use the state online with perhaps USA inside it. This symbol is more classy, unique, interesting, and smaller than the wordy, "Idaho Made".

 My thoughts exactly

I would like to see Chris redesign his logo to incorporate the "USA" and "Idaho Made" into them discretely.

In my simple mind, a logo should be harder to replicate that two words. I would think anyone who engraves can add "Idaho Made" to a knife scale.

I know a big part of the success of CRK is their clean and simple designs - so loud and gaudy would be out.

Maybe CRK could run a contest / logo design?

But can't they engrave counterfeits? Also, I can't seen any really decent knockoffs or counterfeit CRK.

I think it may have something to do with the 'made' part. The product states it was made in Idaho. Perhaps there is some international trade law about misrepresenting where an item is made. If so, this could prove to be an effective tool against counterfeiters.

...Anyway, here are some ideas, using Adamar's photo as a starting point. I used Myriad Pro Italic as the font, because it is somewhat close to what is used on the Star-Benza's "IDAHO MADE" lettering.

+1 on either of these two.

Personally I like the original, but either of these would be good as well.

I don't think it should go on the blade, clip, or lock at all. The blade needs to be kept clean. It just looks cheesy on the clip or the lock. Here are my two ideas: (Obviously it would not be as bold as in the second picture, that's the only way I could get it to work though.)

Personally I like the the Idaho Made Idea and feel the only improvement would be in the execution. Of the ideas presented here I prefer in order Admar's designs in the following order of preference. Any of them adds the style that better "fits" the CRK quality image.

Great job Admar,

Anyone who does not like the new "Idaho Made" stamping on the Sebenza, should consider the Umnunzaan, standard or Wilson Startac version.

Here is a link of the 2 Umnumzaan's with the stamping. I believe Chris Reeve did a much better job incorporating the "Idaho Made" stamping on these knives. If he made the Sebenza's like this, there probably would have been a lot less controversy.

Seems appropriate to quote this.

The title of this thread clearly states the topic. If you are not interested in it, do not read it. We still have free will in this county, (or at least some of us do.)
