Ideal wilderness skills/bush knife features?

2medicine, Chris is not me, but he could be my younger brother. Correct, the knife is a Schrade 165OT Woodsman. And they have been discontinued for some years even before the company closed in 2004. But even today, with all of the collector interrest, they can still be found at very reasonable prices. A very servicable used knife would go in the range of $45, and a new in the box example like the one illustrated would go just a tad over $100. They are discontinued, but not rare at all.

These were in regular production from 1967 through 1991.

Codger

Relative term.

Virtually no knife steel is truly non stainless.

Skam

I would bet he realizes that Skam.:rolleyes:

Back on topic.... hard ??? with lots of answers. For me it would depend on where I was, and what I was trying to do.

However a Skookum Bush Tool comes a s close as anything I would have in mind. Should get mine in December or January.

Right now my "go to knife" is a Fallkniven F1. Still doubt I will ever part with that one. It's a bit thick, but still seems to slice like a laser.
