IE locks up BAD when posting!

I don't think that works with my setup -
Windows Me 4.90.3000
Internet Exploer v 6.0.2800.1106
(I use Windows Update regularly to keep both up-to-date)

As mentioned before -
I have some very good reasons for being on IE6 - without which would render some of my use the the internet inoperable -
I have installed and used FireFox - even though it is a good browser - unfortunately it is not compatible with an essential component I use for the net.....and the only Browser that is compatible was IE6.

I've disabled Active X and it still seems to lock up.

In fact, I'd say the problem is getting worse. I can hardly post at all with IE anymore. I've switched to Firefox and it seems fine.
