on their eighteenth birthday, which one should it be? Include your reasoning and preferably a picture of said knife. My choice would be the Spyderco Manix 2 with a flat grind, modified to be in 154 CM steel. The blade shape is great for all-around utility, the lock is reasonably strong for most outdoor and indoor purposes, the choil and excellent traction provides added safety for fingers, and it wouldn't be prohibitively expensive to mass produce, especially with the less expensive 154 CM.

If there was one knife that said America IMO, it would be the Kabar.

Screw that, give the people sebenzas:triumphant:

Give me sebenzas, or give me death

LOL Awesome. Also, congrats on going Gold, brother!

My answer would be a Swiss Army knife of some type. Some useful tools, and a sharp blade, all that 99% of the people in this country would need.

I got a Manix 2 on the way, so excited. :o But I agree with Blues Bender, Sebenzas would be nice, but if you take prices into account, it would take around 87,500,000,000 USD for that to happen :p we would run out of supplies before that ever happened. Not the most possible thing, but hypothetically in a world were everyone can get a knife, I would choose a Small Sebenza

An ALOX Farmer, if you can't master the use of a knife like that I wouldn't expect they'd appreciate a Sebenza.

SAK? How about an American knife? :D

I believe in freedom of choice, but we have to set limits. Pick a sodbuster, a trapper, or a stockman.

SAK of some sort-lots of Americans will never carry something like a Manix 2 even if you give it to them. Other people can't due to laws on blade size and such. An SAK is something that I believe the most people would actually carry and use.
