If it's possible . . .

For a long time it was a GEC stag 73 but then I started collecting Schrade wire jacks. The simplicity yet strength makes them the ideal knife for me. The clip point is in such beautiful condition for its age that it’s in consideration but the large spear point is clearly the winner.A103D563-0E60-40C8-A9D6-311D2DA16C5E.jpeg9B6D8359-DD0D-4306-9315-9F3AF10E1128.jpeg

My "favorite" was a Queen Gunboat. Full reprofile of the primary grind into a zone zero edge. I also had to squeeze the bolsters and peen the pins to take out gaps, and firm up wiggle.

But the spring on the coping blade broke.....so it is not carried currently.

Someone once challenged me to list my top 10 favorite albums of all time. I thought it would be relatively easy. I came up with 50 in no time and couldn't decide on the top 10...it was impossible. I can't imagine picking just one.
Same thing here...I can't pick just one :) Top 10 traditional knives is the best I can do

The 2019 BF 86 is up there though.

After thinking today long and hard about my possible choices, all I can say is,
yesterday, my favorite brand was Case. Specifically the Texas Jack...

...today, it's the Waynorth Black Jack.

Tomorrow who knows ???!!!

I do have more GEC 15s and 74s then any other models if that's any indication,
but if I'm expected to work this hard very often... I'm gonna be needing a raise. ;)

Pleasant evening in Bogue NC, sitting in a rocking chair listening to a local gospel group and thinking about your question. I own at least twelve brands (mostly vintage, some current) of quality pocketknives. I only own one representative of my favorite; this Fight’nRooster Premium Stockman has been my favorite since acquiring it years ago (and I’ve never even carried it!). It’s the most perfect knife I own and it gives me joy just to look at it and work the blades. OH

If I had one knife from my traditional collection it would be a Maserin Plow..... It's affordable ($50), very well made, nicely sized, laser sharp (D2), and does everything I want a traditional knife to do.....

If I were a whittler, or other specific user, I might choose differently..... But the Plow checks off many of the boxes on my list.

Yea
For me it is GEC. This is for a number of reasons. Their knives developed my enthusiasm for traditional slip joint knives. The obvious quality. Additionally, their creativity beyond cover materials makes collecting fun. I also like their use of model names I.e “beer scout” “calf roper” etc go beyond the traditional “sleeve board” “serpentine” etc.
That said I cannot pick a favorite knife, but I do have a favorite pattern seen below.

yeah, can’t argue against a GEC 15, though a 48 or 77 is nice too...anything from Mr CC floats my boat.D809675B-4376-422B-832D-312F6E07AAF2.jpeg

No it's not! 😖

BUT if somebody were pointing a gun (Traditional Wheelgun/or Lever of course ;)) at me and demanded an answer...then this might push its way into my hand.

But then, all the Stockman, Laguioles, single blades, Penknife types et al. left behind ...o_O Coercion is never right

GEC 15 single blade clips. Small enough yet large enough. Most pinchable GEC 15 blade style. More comfortable to use than multiblade slipjoints as there is no secondary tang to cut into your grip. Rounded edges don't tear up your pockets. GEC executes this pattern well.

SS versions have slightly more pull, wonderful walk and talk.
