If knife brands were car brands...

Taylor Brands would be Tata... an overseas, very low-cost company that's bought up lots of formerly respected makers.

Gerber would be Rover-- used to be respected, used to build some really great products, on a long downhill slide but still sell a ton.

Opinel is Vespa-- quirky, good value, way more common in Europe than in the US but owners swear by them.

Leatherman is International Harvester-- sure, they make an occasional car or small SUV, but that's not their primary product line.

Hmm, let's see. Most should be fairly self-explanatory. :)

Buck is Ford
Ka-Bar is Chrysler/Dodge
Cold Steel is GM
SOG is AMC
Kershaw is Toyota, ZT is Lexus
Spyderco is Mitsubishi
Benchmade is Subaru
Mora is Saab
Boker is Volkswagen

With the amount of arguments that happen over them, Spyderco and Benchmade could be Ford and Chevy.

Let's reverse those names. I've never owned a Ford automobile; don't expect to. Had lots of Chevies and Spydies. :)
