If we could design the next BK ...

That is a cool idea, a Becker letter opener. Mini version of the handle design and all. I'd buy one!

And still lovin' the Wharncliff design you made.

I'd love to see a Drop-point 9, with either a high saber (a la BK12/Ritter MK2) or flat grind. Also, a spear point 16, but with the 15 length. The blade of the 16 is a little shorter than the handle. It's an awesome knife, but I think it'd be even better if just a little longer and the point were centered along the blade. FFG, of course. I hold no love for your sorcerous saber grinds. :)

I am simple. Just take the same blade design as the BK2, thin it out to 3/16" and lengthen the blade to 6". Perfect knife imo.

I've actually given some serious thought to making a Beckizashi. I had a design I sketched out and put in one of the Snark threads months ago. Perhaps I'll make it a reality if I have enough steel left over from the current project. Beckizashi in CPM 3V...

I also need to redo the bush sword with a shallower grind to protect the edge. I reprofiled the 5160 version, but the design needs some work. I think thinner starting stock, and shallower edge grind, and it will be MEAN.

I am lazy and worthless, can you repost the pic(s)?

I'd love to see the beckizashi. What is a Bush sword?

Bush sword is the one on the left next to the BK6:

Beckizashi... I didn't repost the pic because I'm also lazy, and didn't remember where I put it. Fortunately, search function is my friend.

Becker Knife and TOOL.

Hmmmm....

Lots of fine knives to choose from, but me thinks perhaps more "tools" (I.e. BK3, kukri) should be made to balance the lineup. This idea should spark the imagination of this forum.

I'll start with this. Got intrigued by the cold steel shovel and bought one. OMG, that thing is evil as a yard tool. One issue. It isn't a Becker and how can we let a Russian design go unchallenged? What would a Becker shovel look like?

Bottle opener is a must, one sharpened (convex) bladed side, the other side with a proper saw and a small portion that is thick to baton with? Perhaps slightly smaller head to keep weight in check, a welded combination thick sheetmetal and thickEr gage section where needed? A angled face to use as a pry bar if needed. Big Becker handle, rounded. And all metal with no wood near the head so it an grill meat over the campfire?

You'll have to look in the cove for that.....;).
Ha! I was so intrigued by the "sword" that I wasn't thinking of the "bush". EDIT:*

Wow, those are amazing. How thick is that sword?

*That's what she said
