If I had to choose only one, I would probably go with a Vic Pioneer. In reality the 2018 Buck Forum Knife is in my pocket most of the time.

Impossible. Some days it’s a GEC 33, some days a Case Swayback Jack, or a Peanut. Some days it’s a bigger single blade jack of one pattern or another.

SAK - probably a Tinker Small or Alox Cadet.

If one traditional pattern other than/ in addition to a multi-tool/ SAK, it would be a Barlow.

It would have been this Queen Pardue collab Gunboat but it snapped a spring on the coping blade.

Of course, the knife that gets the most pocket time is this Whaler.

Think I'd have to go with a large stockman. My current most carried is the GEC 82 Dixie. But for a lifetime single knife I'd go with something a little more robust as far as blade stock goes. A well built queen #49 cattle king in D2 is a true workhorse.
Although redsparrow is on to something with the SAK farmer. The tool set on these is ideal without being bulky. The farmer with a clip main and maybe an added pen would be near perfection for me in this scenario.

For me my desert island pattern is a medium sized stockman, be it a Case or GEC 66.

For just "knifey" stuff, it would be one of my Case sowbelly stockmen in CV. If it was to be a "do everything" kind of tool, it would likely be the SAK Electrician, Farmer, or Tinker... something like that.
Runner up for knifey stuff would likely be a tie with the Case 6347 stockman with 3 springs..... no krinked blades, or the Dixie Stockman (if I had one again)

It’d be hard to argue with your choice. That type of knife is like an over-grown GEC 15, which might be too big to call a “boys knife”, but that’s what I think of with the bare end and pattern shape. Pure utility.

I was thinking of going with the GEC #15 with a single spear, myself.
