If you can only have one...

It’d be hard to argue with your choice. That type of knife is like an over-grown GEC 15, which might be too big to call a “boys knife”, but that’s what I think of with the bare end and pattern shape. Pure utility.

I was thinking of going with the GEC #15 with a single spear, myself.

So if the 15 is a boys knife and the 3 rivet is a larger version, the pattern should be a “man’s knife”. ? Heh, has a ring to it.

Whatever you call it, I love the thing. Great size, great shape, blade holds an edge a long while. They’re faaaaar underrated IMO.

If I had your knives... I would choose the Rounder. 🤠
They're neck and neck, John!
If the Rounder was stag it'd be my choice too!

I've always wanted to try one of those 53s, seeing as I love my 54 big jack, but always been afraid about how heavy they'd be. Ironic considering I carry a buck 110 often enough. 🤣

It is really not that heavy. Certainly feels lighter than my 110s.

I don't notice it at all. But again, I'm used to pocketing the 45, the 36, a d 23's all the time.

Do you use a slip with the 53 or just pocket it? I've never found a good slip for my 54 do I've always just pocketed it

Nice knife. It is unfortunate there aren’t many jumbo size cattle knives like that around, vintage or modern. The average cattle knife is 3 5/8” and even those are uncommon now.

SAK compact plus, with the hidden ferro and tinder in the corkscrew-that should about cover it
