If your were to design and build yourself an edc folder, what would it be like.
I'd like to see a drawing of your ideas edc folder.
And if your a maker, I'd like to see what you've made for yourself.

Here's mine.
It would be 4" closed with a 3" deep belly 1095 clip point Sabre ground blade.
It would also have a pick lock, left handed forged thumb stud, and forged fixed left side tip up deep carry pocket clip.
I think it would probably have a 1045 frame, 1095 lockbar, and burlwood scales.
And obviously a lanyard hole.

So that's my idea of an awesome edc folder, what's yours ?

I'm a piss poor drawer so I wont even attempt but that's a sweet idea man!

all I can say about my edc id make is it'd be wicked, and unnecessary :D

i surprised myself, being a spydey fan, but here goes:

EDC #1 - a clipped point folder like the original cold steel voyager with a tri-ad lock. the diff is that the blade would be wider and thicker, and the handles should have metal bolsters, with full metal liners (titanium if you want.) alternately, it would be a lightened buck 110 improved with tri-ad, a wider blade, and a more "competitive" blade steel.

EDC #2 - basically a G-10 delica in zdp 189.

1) CQC-7 spear point with triadlock and scandi grind in A8mod steel, no liners, G-10.

2) Al-Mar Falcon with triadlock and M2/M4 steel, in G-10.

3) Old project, with triadlock of course.

Here's another pick lock design I came up with.
It's 6.5" oal with a 2-3/4" blade and a 3-3/4" handle.
Not sure exactly what the handle would be or anything.

you betcha man, Texas Native, 5.5 inch legal length blade and been carrying the limit all my life.... I think my current EDC is bigger than a 16....

My current edc is sorta iffy.
Law says fixed blades on belt unconcealed but I don't tuck my shirts in, though the tip of the sheath shows so technically I should be fine.
I live in a fairly rural area so I can easily get away with my 8-3/4"oal fixed blade that I've been edc'ing no big deal , but I'm just not comfortable with it blatantly out In the open so I just let my shirt mostly cover it.

Looks much like this:

I can draw but am too lazy at the moment. Maybe Sunday.
My dream folder :
Titanium handle
Griptillian shape but longer (I think)
Or this handle . . . not sure what the heck it is but it sure grabs me. I hope it is OK I borrowed these photos from another thread here. Passion and obsession can make a person do extreme and inexcusable things.

Blade material : I am at a complete loss . . . there are too many good ones . . . CTS-XHP or there a bouts would be fine. Maybe make one in 3V or M390 . . . I have wondered about the 154 stuff (whatcha call it) . . . I am going crazy here . . . too many choices in steel . . .

Blade shape I could go several ways here and be happy. Some where between the Hold Out or Manix or narrower like a Case Trapper clip blade or a happy medium like the Cold Steel Kitchen Classic 3inch parring knife but could go four inch.

Blade thickness 2mm (Have Phil Wilson grind the thickness behind the edge).
~ Flat ground

Dare I dream like a silly school girl (no offense women of the world) and plead with Phil Wilson to heat treat it ? ? ? ? . . . nah that would be too good.

Axis lock

I don't have one yet but I might like the DLC coating.
OK here is where it gets expensive . . . I now just added a whole duplicate knife and had the blade etched similar to the Boker Medium Stockman large blade. I like THAT quite a lot. I will have to come up with a good image and some frilly stuff and maybe a word or two.

Hey . . . some body stop me . . . having this much fun MUST be illegal.

Tip down as long as the axis lock keeps it closed in my pocket.
Titanium pocket clip, parkerized steel or Spyderco wire clip. What the heck . . . make it take all three and I will rotate clips since I would probably carry this knife a whole lot I need something to rotate so make it different clips.

I like the Spyder hole, 14mm.

Pardon me while I swoooooon on my fainting couch . . . I have the vapors.

just a heads up in most jurisdictions a weapon is considered concealed if less than 80% of the weapon is visible

I would redo the the Spyderco Delica with the...
1. More aggressive gimping found on the dragon fly series,
2. Get rid of the liners,
3. Round the tip more and make it thicker(slightly thicker), because it's not tactical for me and I pry with it more than I should.
4. Add a wire clip for lighter weight and deeper carry.

To address Spyderco engineers who keep saying a wire clip is not possible on the Delica... The lanyard whole can be removed and it would work just like all the other lock back knives they put wire clips on. I've never used the lanyard whole, so for me it's good trade in.

That's good to know, thanks for the heads up 👍
honestly in my area it's not gonna be a big deal. It's only an edc cutting tool and
I'm not getting into trouble so it'll never come up .if it did I doubt anyone including the cops knows what the exact knife laws are, or would just give me a heads up to keep it more visible.
I'll be making a different sheath soon anyway and it'll end up riding lower , so I'm not gonna worry about it.

154 cm steel.
Blade similar to tanto 910 Stryker but with thumb ramp and hole such as seen on delica.
Triad lock.
Titanium liners.
Handle styled like a buck 110

Have to be careful hear, in my CCW class they said police have charged many people with brandishing in my town for have partially exposed guns when they were supposed to be fully concealed. The rule of thumb is 100% or 0%. But that is guns, not knives...

Edit: Plx excuse my 6th grade grammar.
