If You Could Choose Only One Knife?

For a fixed,a Buck 119,It's light, tough as needs to be,holds a decent edge, won't rust easily, and is fairly inexpensive.Me and a friend abused the heck out of each of ours, back when we were young and really new how to abuse $hit.Never broke one of those blades. If I had to pick a folder it would be one of the various Vic SAKs or a Vic Spirit X Multitool.

As stated before, if it was unexpected, then I'd just have the knife I always carry. In my case, a small Sebenza. Not useful for felling redwoods or harpooning narwhals, but better than nothing.

TOPS Haket.

...if I ever get one, or unless someone who knows tells me they suck. Till then it's a Becker BK2 if I expected to be in the woods, EDC Benchmade 730S if I didn't.

Your math is not wrong. I don't know if I asked Toni about this, but you may take 19% off that price if you are not living in the EU. Either way, the lad knows what he is doing. As for being spendy for O1, what is wrong with that particular steel? Have you priced an O1 knife from some other custom makers like Kevin Cashen? Toni is a competition cutter and I am not sure if he is still using O1, but one of his British friends came over to Blade a couple of years ago with a comp knife that had a point (actually looked like a knife) as opposed to being one of the newer cleaver types and came in 5th his first time out. That knife was made a hidden tang knife made from O1 using a heat treat recipe that he devised with the help of Mr. Cashen. Most of the other knives were full tang cleaver shaped "race knives" made from CPM M4. Nuff said. Custom kitchen knives in O1 from known makers cost more that this knife.
I like that Bullshark. Looked up the price for the "M" edition, and if I did my conversion right and if the prices shown on his site are Euros, those knives are 320 Euros = $416 US!!! Cool knives, but spendy for O1 steel. I'm hoping that either my math is wrong, or that you found a better price than that.

My Baryonyx machete, hands down. But given that I designed it around my own environment, uses, and experience that's hardly a surprise. I can't think of many things I couldn't do with it.

Victorinox One-handed Trekker.

One thing these guys are not thinking about is how hard to sharpen these high-end knives are. Sure, they hold their edge longer, but eventually, they will need to be sharpened. Since you didn't say we get to take a sharpening kit too, I assume we'd have to do it on a rock or something. For that, a medium or softer steel would be preferable.

Also, with my Victorinox, I won't be dulling it up by doing any chopping with it, since it also has a saw. ;)

either my K-AATAK ina Vanadis 4 Extra steel
or my large canvas forest in sleipner steel

both made by a friend of "Kiko Knives"
