If you could have any current Zero Tolerance folder for free, what would you get?

777 - the original, its the only one that has eluded me...

I already have several ZT's and love them all.

if I could get one for free right now, it would be a ZT0562CF with M390 blade.
Im curious as to why? I own a 204p 0562cf and love it. Is it the exclusivity of having one with an m390 blade (same as 204p)? Just curious because alot of these made it into the wild and saw one on the exchange for 300+ and laughed out loud. Nothing bad meant here, im seriously asking why m390 if you can attain a 204p model? I love ZT products and am glad they got the supply issue under control by switching to 204p

ZT 0600 maybe the new 0392 wharncliffe.

To answer the specific question that the OP asked, I would like to get the Russian exclusive 0454-204P if that one counts, and the 0452CF if it doesn't. I have an OG 0454, and I love it, but can't bring myself to EDC it.

If we include non-current models, then any and all variants of the 0777 and 0888 from the past, and the 0606 and the future versions of the 0392 (really hoping for a Bowie bladed one).

Simple - it's is because I have a plethora of knives and m390 is one of my favorite steel. I just know exactly how it performs and sharpens.

Unfortunately I have no experience with 204p so I cannot comment on that steel.

And price shouldn't be an issue. Why? Because I'm simply answering the OP question with an honest answer. If you ask me "What Zero Tolerance folder would you get if money was not in the equation?" - I'll request the super steel, every time. You'd be stupid not to if you don't pay for it ;)

I can totally relate to that :)

I'm probably leaning towards the 0562cf in M390 with the custom scale I've got or the same make in 204P......love both blade steels. However, a close second is any version of the 0550/551. Finally, my third take is the 0350/0360skd......love that knife!!

I would probably want a 0562 in 204c so it'd be a matched set with my M390 0562CF. Either that, or one of the limited runs, not really even sure which.

Not to be a steel prude, but Bohler M390 and Carpenter 204P are relatively the same steel in composition, as is CPM-20CV.

So... What you're telling me is I need one of each "just in case", right?

Have a 770cfM4 and love it. Would like a stronger detent soni could deassist it though. To answer the OP, I would think a 392 would suit me just fine.

Ha!

No, but it wouldn't hurt anything except your wallet!!

Just saw a few posts on 'having M390 and wanting to try a ZT with 204P" so I just wanted to clarify.

I believe that ZT switched to one or the other because one of the two steels was difficult to get (or something like that) however they are basically the same....

Thats exactley what were telling you :)

You can never have enough of a good thing!!

M390/CTS-204P/CPM-20CV are excellent steels, with insane edge retention...

To answer the point of this thread, it would be a ZT 0560CBCF

I will never forget that when that knife first came out I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak before they went on sale at my local knife store.
I was just hanging out there on the right day and at the right time.

I was amazed by that knife for a reason I really can't explain, it felt great to hold and had so much going on....it just stuck with me.

It's alway's on my list, just something's always ahead of it, but I will own one sooner then later....
