If you could have any Custom Maker build you a Traditional...

I would be so happy with a Erickson or Pena. Cattle knife with pre ban ivory.

Or anything by Stan Shaw.

If money were not an issue I would get multiples from all the makers mentioned plus some that were not like a Rupple sow belly whittler for example.

Not sure on a maker, But I would love a stainless (with a patina and pits) soldier pattern (like my '43 wenger) with updated tools. That is one solid knife, I just am scared of losing due to who I got it from and how I got it.

If not that, an Opinel with a Moose antler handle with as much color as possible. If I can find someone willing to do it, I would have it made in a heartbeat. I am having a hard time finding a maker myself though.....but I am having trouble making up my mind as to what I really want tool, hehe

I'd probably have to go with Enrique Pena as his knives are the furthest from my reach at the moment. After I recovered from winning the lottery - so money would be no object - I'd probably have a hard time coming up with just one I wanted.

Ken Erickson...a duplicate of this one in ATS-34 that I sold in a moment of weakness ( aka pay bills ).

I think it would have to be a Tony Bose splitback whittler or congress in antique Remington bone.

I was thinking a Tribal Spear made by Tony Bose himself, maybe with bone scales and CPM154 or CPMS35VN.

But I would have to say a trapper from Scott Gossman. I've bought a couple of GEC's from him, knives he carried. He's a Buck collector also, but he likes those GEC knives. I had a friction folder from him, a really nice piece. I asked him about making a slipjoint, he said he's sticking with fixed blades. If I had the opportunity though, I'd get a slipjoint from him. It would probably be a trapper.

I did get a Zulu from J Oeser, and it was a really nice knife. I'd like to get some more down the road, they are great knives. I am afraid to carry mine for fear of losing it.

Don't have much first hand experience with custom traditionals but I would love maybe a 2 3/4" wharncliffe trapper or muskrat pattern with rams horn handle material or even giraffe bone. Played with a beautiful stag handled trapper by J.B. Moore and love his work or maybe Jim Dunlap. I've seen some other work by a custom knife maker out of Lamesa, Tx, I think named Jerry White and like the uniqueness of his single blade clip point with burled maple handle. As far as steels go, CPM 154, D2 or CPm S35V would be my top choices.

i have paid aftermarket. prices on bose knives, and to me they are great, worth every penny,

i like the work of, Zcherny, Erickson , Oeser, and Dr T,

i would like a Bose Horsemans knife in stag, i like the many functions this knife offers.

Being rather new to the traditional realm, I have a hard time pinning down a maker. I'm not real familiar with them. I have seen TA Davidson's work here on the forum and I really like it. So, I'd have to choose him at this point.
Pattern; I really like angular shapes, so squared ends are the flavor here. That being the case, I think a simple two bladed stockman, or perhaps a gun stock might work for me.
Materials; polished Black G10, black linen micarta, or ebony wood, with stainless steel bolsters and liners. Both blades (main Drop point like the Sodbuster) (secondary pen sized Spey) in S30V. I'd like the main blade to have a bit of thickness to it, but this might be my inexperience talking here.
Anyway, nothing fancy, because, I really don't know what fancy is yet.

Thanks for letting me play regardless!

This one is easy for me. I would have C. Gray Taylor make me a knife EXACTLY like this one, which I had the great pleasure of examining two years ago . . .

A 5 inch closed two blade, 2 spring equal end Sunfish.
Brass or Bronze one piece liners and bolsters, 1095 blades with long matchstrike pulls, "as ground" or satin finish (not a high polished fingerprint magnet) Spear point main, maybe a full size Wharncliffe or Sheepsfoot secondary, pinned antique oak scales.

I have no idea who - if anyone - would be willing to make such a monster sunfish.

Yes. I am strange.
