I'm assuming that you're looking to buy a knife for 200 or under? In that case, all of this is completely worthless, because what appeals to someone else is irrelevant to your own interests. What features do YOU personally like in a knife? You need to give that some thought, and if you don't know, you should probably be looking at cheaper knives so you can find out what you like and don't. For instance, I like flippers, AXIS-style locks or framelocks, I'm okay with liner locks, and hate back locks. I want a premium steel and I want to know I can trust the heat treat. I hate jimping, and I hate blocky knives that are only designed with ergonomics in mind in 2 dimensions. I want 3D sculpting. I don't like partially serrated blades. Either go all the way, or leave it plain. Plain has better resale value. I like deep carry pocket clips, and I want them to be designed to be comfortable in hand, not a cheap afterthought. I want something aesthetically pleasing, but not too pretty to use, or overly tactical to intimidate non-knife users with. I like drop points, and I'm not hugely fond of recurves, because they never perform well in a short blade. Etc.
What matters to YOU in a blade? Once you have thought about that, you can start thinking about which knife fits the bill.
