If you could only buy ONE new knife...

Very cool @Hauling! I want one so bad.. All I can do is keep lurking on all the Strider dealer sites and hope I find one. Congrats to you for finding the perfect knife!

I might part with it one day in the not so distant future actually, just don't use it. I'll let you know if you would like when the day comes.

Only one, for every single task from now on?

It'll have to be a 4" to 6" fixed blade in some high carbon steel (1095?) from any number of quality blade smiths or manufacturers.

I'm just trying to picture having to do everything from kitchen tasks, to hunting, to general outdoor work......

One single knife? A pretty daunting task, but I'm sure it could be done if it had to be.

Ferrum Forge 20cv flipper, And an Axe for the woods, that doesn't count, right!?!?

One knife? Well, since I am only into fixed blade knives now...

BUCK Ranger Skinner #113 fixed blade knife.

I carry this every single day now and if I needed to buy a second aka a back up knife, standard or a custom made one, so FAR it would be this one.

My husband was ready to buy a beautiful $190. to $200. plus fixed blade knife for me on Saturday evening. (The cost varies a bit in the one store here in town compared to some online stores.) It was a SWEET Bark River knife! He wanted me to check out one store with their larger selection of knives and one brand, BR, that I had never seen or HANDLED in person. They only carried ONE KNIFE in this well known brand! BR Bravo 1 FB knife - A2 steel according to the box, label and salesman that we know.

I passed on the knife gift for now. Uh huh. The BR Bravo 1 was/is a beautiful knife but the blade was a BIT longer than what I wanted for fanny pack carry.

I am still trying out one of his other knives here at home (A sweet Tops Cougar Claw.) but when I LEAVE the house... I carry my Buck #113.

I refused two other fixed blade knives of his including a famous, classic, older MT made one because I LOVE my Buck #113.

He is still gifting and selling some of his STUFF (A few knives and a few firearms.) and if HE would like to get another knife in a different steel and brand name... I told him to buy what he wants or use my anniversary gift money towards a new knife.

He has changed a lot of his knives around BIG time!

He is still carrying the BUCK '55' that I gave him on a daily basis too.

Cate
PS: I hope to get my pictures up soon too. My husband helped me get some pictures off in an email to a BF friend so maybe I can try out what a moderator told me about here!

Since I like to eat, mine would be a kitchen knife. Probably a custom 8" chef's knife.

If money was no object, I'd buy an Emerson Super CQC-6

Was going to say the Ontario 498 Marine fighting knife or 499 Pilot survival knife until I saw the limitation on other knives. So, I guess a custom shop Buck 110 with brass bolsters and pins, and oak handles. Not sure If I'd pop the extra $13 for S30V or keep the standard 420HC blade. Oh, and a leather sheath .
