Which would you choose? Would you choose one at all?
I love the design and respect the Emerson Karambit receives.... but I am not too fond of chisel grinds, and I don't know whether or not the pocket clip can be moved....
There is always the Tarani, but of course no wave feature.

I think Karambits have an interesting design, but all too many people say they are just unconventional.
I need some good opinions.
Persuade me to get one. :D

I sent this to Andrew Demko a few months ago...

.200" CPM154 with a 3.5" blade chisel ground with secondary bevel... something like this but with a slight curvature.

Full Ti back spacer to include finger ring.

Ti liners .090" with black G10 scales (same texture as last) that cover the entire handle.

L/R pocket clip holes for tip up mounted below finger ring. Finger ring completely exposed when clipped in pocket.

ID of finger ring is 1.25".

My palm is 4" at it's widest.

A waved chisel ground wharncliffe folding kerambit with the Tri-Ad lock would pretty much do it.

Oh umm... OK. Sounds cool. I kind of meant what would you choose of the currently available models?

None... Maybe a Emerson Super kerambit with a Reese Weiland framelock conversion... sorta like this one he did on a normal size kerambit.

I don't think there are very many karambit fans really. Had you asked Mora fans or Stockman pattern fans...you'd've gotten an earfull. Sorry man. Plus most people only ever do choose one karambit I suppose.

For quality production folding karambits, you can't beat the 5.11 Tarani series. They have solid rings, good quality steel, and excellent lockback mechanisms.

For fixed karambits, you can't do better than American Kami's karambit series. Check out this little baby: http://americankami.com/DSC06738.JPG

easy to wave too

I have a Mantis Midnight Karambit on order. Didn't want to spend any more than $50 for something that would get tossed if I ever carried one and got stopped by LE.

The only karambit I own is my spyderco folding karambit. Its discontinued but if you get the chance to pick one up, I would recommend it.

I had a Emerson fixed k-bit, it was a very cool knife and the design was perfect but I don't need a knife specifically designed to kill.

If I wanted another one it would be the emerson fixed or a custom.
