With pure utility in mind, I would be faced with two scenarios having to chose between two CPKs which have 6"ish blades (my fixed blades goldilocks zone):
A- if in a more urban/rural setting, then the Utility Fighter (UF). Melts in your hand, great balance, weight, ergos, deadly sharp which can perform a multitude of "lighter" tasks in addition to being a defensive weapon.
B- if in a "survival" or general backcountry extended camping, trekking, a bit of hunting / gathering and that sorta purposes, the one which can do all tasks even though if not meant to be perfect for every task: HDFK.
If Tommy is going to throw a hissy fit followed by some intense wailing and screaming, demanding the answer be one and only ONEe, then I'd have to select the HDFK just to prevent Tom-Tom from blowing a gasket![]()
What I didn't pick was the ability to buy one without engaging in a virtual fistfight and/or getting rolled by an unconscionable opportunist selling them for twice their manufacturer price on the secondary market because that option wasn't available.......
I picked the Field Knife. Having spent lots of time in the field in various situations and conditions I've found that blades between 4 and 5 " are the most versatile.

Thanks guys. Out of curiosity, what / where are specs and discussion on new FK? I've honestly been curious and jonesin' for one of the Carothers FK's in Delta 3v.
I'm not particular about whether it's new or current model , I simply want one to use. 3v is probably one of my favorite metals for my type of use. Which is usually hard with a requirement of an edge retention and taking a razor edge. Delta seems to be a cut above that
Nathan has not revealed much about the new FK aka FK 2.0 other than already stating that it will be a tweaked version of the old FK sans the pry bar piece at the pummel.
Yikes, that is one aspect I like and comes in handy- for me. In fact , I prefer it otherwise I don't really like the butt of the handle configuration on the Carothers, but that is my two
