My Skinny ASH is the one I take camping the most and since I just love the damn thing I've got to choose it.


If there were zombies roaming the street (or if I for some reason could no longer hike) I might be persuaded to choose my Hortonized CGFBM though. ;)
 
Tie between the MOAB, KZ2, AK47, and the Gladius.
Then again, there are many great Busse-kin blades, and you're hurting me trying to make me choose one and only one.
Heck, I just got my first Busse-kin and I have the addiction.
 
Some of the older straight-handled Busses are real beauties in my mind, including the Satin Jack and earlier Badgers.

I got into Busses later when the BATAC was announced. So I have the following: BATAC CG, BATAC LE, SJTAC (SE & Embrace), BAD, Meaner Street, SFNO-LE, ASH-1 CG, ASH-1 LE, Skinny ASH, NMSFNO, and HG55 (#1!!).

Overall favorites: ASH-1 LE and SJTAC.
Favorite handle shape: ASH-1 LE
Favorite blade shape: SJTAC
Best looking Busse: SFNO
Worst looking Busse: Nuclear Sea Horse!!

When I started this thread I was hoping that one knife would be mentioned over and over again, but from the varied responses it looks like there is no clear favorite because all of the Busse knives are great!

Based on looks alone I really like the SFNO LE or the ASH 1. I'm looking for a knife to carry for general outdoor use when I am out in the woods and I think that this knife offers the right combination of blade length and weight for my needs. Are there any other knives I should look at for my uses or will either of these do the job?
 
There are a lot of geat Busses out there but (so far) this was what Busse did best:thumbup:

I suspect it's more that you didn't initially give a use. One's favorite may be their favorite for no practical reason, and may have nothing to do with what their favorite would be for a given task.

That being the case, any of the mid-length Busses would work, pic the one you like the looks of best. Of those two, I like the looks of the SFNO better.

Another to look at, although longer, is the Bushwhackeer Mistress.
 
CGFBM.

If my HHFSH's handle was recountoured I'd be tempted to give it the nod, as is the handle is too blocky.
 
Depends... why can I only have one? Am I unemployed and have to sell all but one? Has the zombie apocalypse begun and I have to grab one and go?

If it's a money issue, my one would probably be my CABS... the best blade/edge profile of all of my Busses, and it's legal length for me to conceal it, and I can get more money out of selling the others.

If it's zombies, I'm taking my AK.
 
If you are looking for a chopper - get a NMFBM or the LE if you have the Ca$h

If not - go with the CABS

You will never regret owning either :thumbup:

That's not a fantasy, that's a nightmare. I couldn't live with just one Busse, I get depressed just thinking about it:(

But what I think he was looking for is one overall to do it all. And that topic has been beat to death. The winner is usually the NMSFNO or the ASH1 (different thickness.)
