IF you could only have one ZT knife

That's an easy one. 0550. Buttery smooth without bearings, great in the hand, and great steel. The 0550 is one of my favorite all time knives not just favorite ZT. It is a little thick in the handle so pocket carry can be problematic for some but not for me. I think it is perfect. Just look at the thumb studs too hard and it opens with impressive speed.
I currently own 6 ZT's and have owned several. I'm always impressed by the balance of quality and value.
I was hesitant at first to buy a ZT due to my lack of success with Kershaw as a whole. I'm sure glad I didn't let that stop me.
My recent acquisition of the 0801S110V is absolutely amazing. Strong pivot (has wonky pivot hole) makes it the best flipper of all my flipping knives but still would pick my plain Jane run of the mill 0550.
Sorry to ramble but I'm a big fan of the 0550.

If I could have only ONE...I would be sad.
I think my ZT grail is the 0888; but I wouldn't use it, so it would be a wasted choice.
Sooooo....if I was restricted to ONE, I would sell my 0300,0560, 0770 (aluminum/Elmax), and 0350. I'm not sure if I would part with my ironwood scaled 0350 in m390...but I would definitely keep my 0200, 0550, 0770m4, 0801bw, and possibly the 0808 (obviously, I can't be sure on that one because it isn't here yet).
Who ever heard of such a thing - ONE ZT. Pfffft - That would be a silly rule, and you can bet that I'll be in noncompliance. <wanders off grumbling about the very idea. Geez. WTF>

I was implying that the other knives are VERY overpriced considering what they're able to produce a similar knife (0550/0560 etc) for.
Even the Tyrade was a reasonable price and that was cutting edge (pun intended) for it's time.

Okay I gotcha, I think some of the price differences are due to the cost of machining (for instance the Ti scales on the 0600 and CF on the 0777M390), blade steel and what they feel the knife will sell for in this market. Not knowing what their cost is makes it very hard to say for sure. I will say that my new ZT 0392 now makes most every $400 folder I own look like they're not worth $400...the knfe market is odd that way sometimes. I will say that I've never felt like a ZT wasn't worth what I paid for it and I have a lot of them. Like anything else, opinions will vary.

If I didn't already have a Kershaw Spec Bump, it would be a 0200 as I consider the 0200 as a Spec Bump on steriods. The 0550 is probably my favorite ZT.

I can only speak of those I own and have handled. Of those I'd keep my 770cf over the 350, I sold, and the 566 I still have. It is light, the blade shape is very versatile and has handled all tasks thus far.

Grail moment here - my 0777 just arrived! I might be changing my answer.

Ill make a new thread later.

for me...

id prolly go the 0630. ive owned a few ZTs (had to send 2 back for lockbar slippage) but with the stainless steel insert. its worth it.
