You can only pick two traditional folders to live with for the rest of your life, not including any future upgrades, what do you go with?

Wow that's a hard question. I would hope to find more money as soon as possible.

One case stockman and a trapper.
Those are the only two I carry or use now, even with all the others I have!

#7 Opinel, $15 or less.
Great Eastern White Owl, less than $85.

$100 even for both.

Probably any randomly selected two knives out of my existing inventory would do the trick. I lived for many years not carrying any pocket knives at all.

Your scenario does not exclude multitools or modern knives, so really not that hard to come up with something. You also don't specify whether the total limit is $100, or if I can spend $100 per knife.

Pretty easy for me, though. Case '032 pattern Medium Stockman and Victorinox Electrician. About $60 for the pair. Whatever other needs might come up, I can cover with all of the multitools and modern knives you are allowing me to own.

I would have to say a GEC Trapper pattern (#42 and $100ish) and probably a Vic SAK Adventurer model. These are the folders knives I use, so I am partial to them.

For traditional then I guess a buck 110 and a victorinox pioneer. Then still hope for a cash windfall

yup. i should have been more specific. $100 or less per knife.

Why more cash? Either of those knives you picked will last a lifetime if used with reasonable care.

I would probably go with a bigger Opinel like a #8 or #9, and switch the White Owl to a Scharade GEC made #73 or #23. They are $69 for the #73 size, $79 for the large trapper.

I have both, and they are great.

Edit, with the 100 per knife or less,

I'm gonna change my answer. Buy an opinel with Ebony handle (size #8, and inox steel), and then likely take the left over money and put it toward a cigar pattern cattle baron! From GEC.

Really? It's just not a possibility. Only two? Naaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. And what's with the $100.00 restriction? Why not $125.00 or $150.00 or even $200.00 or maybe just $50.00 . And how about those who carry a knife in the glove box of each of their vehicles and three or four on themselves.

But if you wanna play - a 4" Trapper and a 3 3/8" Barlow. Of course your scenario would allow me to carry my Leatherman Supertool Multitool along with the knives since technically, it is not a knife.

Tough question to answer without possible regrets in the future.
Right now I would want a sak like a spartan or sportsman, and a nice traditional with carbon steel, let's say a case sodbuster jr. For now.

I would be well off with my case trapper, Boker Barlow, opinel no 8., or old timer 8OT as well, but the sod buster is my go to work knife at the moment.

Work knife: Queen sodbuster because it's flat in the pocket and comes in D2.

Single bladed Boys' Knife, or 2-bladed Pemberton or Peanut would be my daily carry. Either of the three would make me happy.

Queen Dan Burke Barlow and Case small Texas Trapper. That would be about $100.
