If you could only save 8 knives...

If you could only grab 8 knives before you had to exit your house because of a house fire, which would you choose and if you want to include why, feel free. I randomly think about this... demented I know.

Eight? Pretty sure I don't even own 8. I'd only bother saving two anyways...my military and my RC4. Those would be the most useful to me.
 
I have the ZT bag that I keep alot of my nicer knives in, but I also keep alot of my favorite/ most used knives spread out so that wouldnt do me much help. If I had to narrow it down I think I would go with:

-Strider SMF
-Benchmade 42
-Kabar heavy bowie
-Cold Steel Rajah 1
-HAK Utility version
-ZT 0300
-Spyderco USN Endura
-Benchmade 530

I know I could get more than 8 though. I would actually be more worried about getting my wife out, and then probably some of my guns. I would definitely not risk getting killed over any knife or gun, so I would not go back in for them.

Well she has hands too, so I guess she could grab a few knives as well. :D

I have a safe, but it isn't fireproof. Its just a $300 ten-gun safe made by Stack-On. I know, I should have spent more and got a fireproof one, but I bought more guns instead. :o Most of my guns are inexpensive surlus military rifles, but I would miss them very much if I was to lose them.

Most of mine are in a drawer so I would just grab the whole thing! :D

yup, me too! the only ones not in the "drawer o' knives" are the folder i choose to keep with my cell phone/wallet etc. for edc and the ka-bar that sits on my nightstand:D
 
I'd grab my limited edition Victorinox Fireman with fold-out fire extinguisher, take care of the fire, then grab all of my knives. :D

More seriously, the only thing that'd be a really high priority for me are the knives that can't be replaced easily. I don't have any customs yet, so by far the top priority would be my Kershaw Volts (my favorite production knife of all time) and, to a lesser extent, Ti SG2 JYDs.
 
I'd just put my ZT 0301 in my pocket and sit in the middle of my front room and watch the place burn up around me...Sort of like one of those crazy Buddhist Monks. I plan on being cremated when I die, so this would save me a step in the process.:D.

Probably would grab some documents, cellphone, maybe a gun or two and run out of the house with whatever knife was clipped to me. Probably the Spydie Yojimbo and a Rough Rider small whittler in my pocket. There's also a Mora, SAK One-handed Trekker and a Leatherman in the car as well

Honestly, I wouldn't think about knives in that kind of emergency.
