If you could own any knife (or other edged weapon) in existence what would it be?

I'd take the ceremonial dagger from King Tut's tomb....and then sell it! Either that of the genuine Excalibur sword!

Double-bladed lightsaber. Heck, as long as it doesn't exist, I might as well stick in mokume or carbon fiber inlays. In any case, it would be tricked out.

Two blade light saber. One blade serrated, the other plain edged.

hmm... if it's in my imagination, I'll have

1. Mace Windu's lightsaber (love the purple blade) and his kick-Darth-Sidious-ass-lightsaber-skills to go with it..

2. Original Excalibur

3. Blade's blade... :)

4. Guan Yu's huge halberd of sorts... wicked-gigantic-broadsword-mounted-on-staff-kind of Chinese weapon (he's a character from the Chinese literary classic, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms)

5. Persus' sword.. the one that lopped off Medusa's head

6. The flying disc used by Predator and since we are at it, his extendable spear as well!

7. and of course, my handle, Tetsusaiga, from the anime series Inuyasha... kills anything from pesky 200 ft demons to splitting mountain ranges, but when not in its glorified form is oft disguised as an old rusting katana..

For real, I'll settle for a plain simple original topgrade katana and kukri..:)

Hmmm ... I didn't know lightsabers could be serrated. :D They just zip through anything don't they?

More within my price range than the Loerchner integral (but still not in a normal price range), I would love to have a Christian Fletcher Borderwatch. Or maybe a Christian Fletcher rendition of Anduril? Haha, oh no! Now that we are wandering up the price range my mind is wandering over to Howard Clark / Yoshindo Yoshihara katanas ....

No doubt about it - Busse Fusion Battle Mistress. The ultimate in knife technology (Infi) and reliability. Best thing is - I recently ordered one and can't wait to have the UPS man to come knocking on my door! :)

Hello All!!! Small knife: My Carbonfiber S30V ParaMilitary Spyderco... As for a BIG Cutting Tool: My Cold Steel Worrior Tanto O. If I could only pick (1) I would Dig out My Blockton 5" D2 Hunter. The Best Knife I have ever Owned by far!

18th century French Guillotine.

Clear up all this death row we-can't-figure-out-how-to-do-a-lethal-injection-correctly BS.

aside from the silly (but fun) suggestions already made, my collection is lacking a swordstick, a tanto bali, a spyderco endura/delica (still undecided), and several other pieces.

but the knife I most want to own is the one I'll make myself one day.

I do love my few Busses, but ...

I suppose I'd 'settle' for a nice, modern katana forged by Howard Clark from his L6 steel. Wouldn't even be picky about the precise style.

Yes, I know it isn't a 'real' Japanese katana and it's 'only' a monosteel blade, but I've always valued function over form...and Howard's L6 katanas are true masterpieces (I've been fortunate enough to actually handle one).

And I can always dream. Perhaps the redoubtable Mr. Clark will re-open his forge for orders again some day.

A wakizashi made in the traditional Japanese way. As soon as I've got a spare US$6,000, I intend to buy one in Japan.
