Hey BF,

I was thinking about upgrading my collection to 10 knives, and what would they be? So, I would be interested in seeing what your guys list would be? I personally buy knives for a specific function or use. The last three knives I'm just meh about, but seem like the best choices available at this moment. The I categorise my knives into three categories (or uses); Tactical/hard use, EDC+ and EDC anybody else do this?

1. Hinderer XM-18 Black DLC (Tactical)
2. ZT 0560BW (Tactical)
3. ZT 0566BW (EDC+)
4. ZT 0450CF (EDC)
5. ZT 0301 (Tactical)
6. Microtech Socom Elite (Tactical)
7. ZT 0350 (EDC+)
8. ZT 0452CF (Tactical)
9. Benchmade 940BK (EDC)
10. Benchmade 560BK Freek (EDC+)

Some runners up for me are; Spyderco DLC coated PM2 or PM3, Benchmade Griptilian and Benchmade Adamas. I also didn't include Victorinox Alox Cadet because I consider it a multi-tool not a knife.

Interesting choices, I didn't include the Cadet because I consider it a multi-tool not a knife.

What does "EDC+" mean?
It was a term a first heard from TheLateBoyScout, it means a slightly larger more capable knife to EDC but still not a full size knife. For example, I consider the ZT 0566BW is a 3.25" blade, heavier, more capable than a 0450BK, but still slim and compact enough EDC.

Brous Vendetta
Brous Tyrant
Protech Godfather
CRKT Otanoshi Noh Ken
ZT 452
ZT 801
ZT 0561
Benchmade 710
Benchmade Crooked River
Brous Sniper

I could name a few more, but these are my main in rotation EDCs

No idea really other than the "10" would likely change semi-annually. All I really need is my SAK and a fixed blade. But I'll list some....
Dozier Pro Guides Knife (turning into my dominant woods knife)
Dozier Personal Wharncliffe/sheepsfoot (K-32 I believe)
Dozier K-6 Personal
Victorinox Adventurer (SAK)
GEC #42 (two blade) Missouri Trapper
GEC #14 Lick Creek Boys knife
ZT-0770CF
GEC #48 Improved Trapper (two blade)
TA Davison Shadow traditional
LionSTEEL Small Opera

2. CRK Insingo to replace the Volli.
3. Ritter Grip or LionSteel TM1 instead of the 551.

You really need to give a pass for multitools ( not multi function knives like Saks because those are a pocket knife with some tools that's why they're called a Swiss army knife not a Swiss army multitool) as most don't usually carry them as a knife but for the tools such as pliers .

Imperial h6
Imperial peanut
Western f48a
Buck 110
Buck 482
Buck 283

Dunno, I feel insecure with just one prize item (fear of losing it?) Too bad I can't apply that philosophy with women.

Selecting 10 total (fixed + modern folders + traditionals, combined) would be a daunting task. I'm pretty sure that I'm not to be trusted with such decision-making.

EDC+ is sort of a silly term...I carry "full size knives" most of the time. (Assuming 3.5-4" blades on folders count as full size.) Perhaps I should start referring to 3.25" blades as EDC-, which would probably mean something like "a good, functional knife; one could carry it every day, if it was just a little bigger".

I trust you...So post 'em  . Fixed and folders. My list is fairly arbitrary and probably changes daily. In fact, I just swapped in the upcoming CPK EDC in 4V (I envision it as a perfect necker less scales).
