Bucks Custom shop has been around in one form of another for decades..and adds immensely to Bucks reputation as one of America's best knife manufacturers. In fact many advanced Buck collectors almost exclusively collect knives from the old Custom shop (Skyler Stevens comes to mind) or one of one Customs by makers that were or are affiliated to Buck such as Wild Bill Cody or Joe Houser.
Even today Buck continues to add choices of materials and new models to the current Custom shop and rarely will drop some some too, for example BG42 steel or Ram's horn, because of supply issues.
I thought a thread on today's Custom shop would be a good idea to give Buck some insight into what we would like to see..and order lol! So here's your chance to let Buck know what YOU wanted if you could make just one change to Bucks current line up..For me it's really easy I want to add a drop point blade option for the 112. Preferably a super steel like S35VN or S30V and if at all possible mirror polished. I've built a custom 112 on Bucks website quite a few times but when I get to the blade option I can't quite push the order button. If I'm going to spend $100.00 or $150.00 or even more I want to have something really special and basically 1 of a kind. And to me that includes a drop point in a super steel and since I like the look of a mirror polished blade on a fancy Custom that too. What would be your choice?

Some things would be relatively easy to do. And some would be difficult. When Buck makes a run of DP 112 blades just drop a hundred or two by the Custom shop. Mammoth tooth or Mastodon Ivory might be more problematic. I don't know the problems that offering that would entail but since Buck has offered it in the past maybe it could be practical. All offerings have to make economic sense but CJ and the team at Buck have many lifetimes of experience that added together can probably solve the problems each change in the shop offerings would have.

Give me one more shot at a 110 with KOA Flame Wood and Fiji Orangewood. Still kicking myself for missing them.

I still want what I wanted last time I involved myself in a thread on this topic:
I would like to be able to order a matching 501/503 pair... that option exists right now; but only in 420HC. While the S30v option for the 501 isn't all that appealing to me, I would go for it if there was a corresponding option for the 503. (I'd much prefer CPM154, or even S35vn; and would probably end up purchasing a few pairs if those steels were an option for both knives).

Heck, if skblades or DLT did a run of 503s to match their respective 501s, I'd jump on those.

I’d like customizable 117 and 501

Different steel/handle material on the 117. Which is just a great knife all around. Surprised we don’t see more of them honestly.

And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t take this opportunity to, again, wish for a clip point 501 please :D:thumbsup:

I think the 55 and CPM-154 are the top 2 things Buck needs to add to this custom shop options.

Other things to add would be D2 and 52100 would be other good steels to offer and for models I would say 500 and 192. The 532 though with its history it kinda feels like it might deserve to be left out and to what basically equates to sprint runs.

Easy.

Custom scales (e.g. micarta, ebony, etc.) and steels for the Vantage--both large and small. Lose the plastic scale frames and go back to the original handle design.

Full 300 Series with a variety of micarta as well as black G10 scales. And S30v steel.

I am more interested in smaller knives these days so I would love to see the 55 added. Maybe even more important would be additional steels for the smaller knives. The 505 and 503 are only offered in the standard 420 steel, why? Buck's S30v is a great steel and it would make an awesome small office friendly pocket knife when paired up with the 55, 503 and 505.

Edit: I would love to see micarta added as an optional handle material. I have a couple of older Buck knives with that material and I think it is great for an EDC knife carried around in a pocket with keys, flashlights, etc.

I'd like a US made Selkirk.
Put a little bigger blade on it so it looks a bit like a small chef/cook knife so the cutting edge would hit before your hand.
With the flat grind, it would be a sweet camp kitchen and utility knife.
There are many on the market similar to this, but Buck makes nothing like that.
