Speaking of 124’s. I’d love to see different blade length options again. A 124 with a 14+“ blade would be epic.

The chipped flint "super steel" blade and critter head bronze guard and pommel might be a wee tiny bit over the top, I suppose .....
A ray or shark skin wrapped handle would be cool, though ... and "traditional". :)
 
I know I already put in my "one pick". But I haven't gotten it yet so I am still deciding whether I want that or this other one I just came up with.

Maybe a 112 in S30V or 420 with ebony and nickel silver bolsters and a satin blade. I still want satin nickel silver bolsters to match though. Id pay extra for the nickel silver bolsters.

So why don't you go to the custom shop knife builder and order one. Satin, S30v, clip point 112 blade is available. Crelicam ebony is available. Nickel silver bolsters are available. If the bolsters aren't satin enough some fine wet dry sandpaper will fix that easily.

Not sure but I don't think the crelicam is the same ebony as the Gibson Guitar ebony, and thats what I want. All black, no streaks of color.
And the nickel silver bolsters are polished. I'd rather not risk doing it myself when they do such a good job on the Pro models.
 
I’m just wondering how long it’s going to be before they start doing the 117’s in other steels like they have some on the 110’s, 119’s, 112’s, 102’s and so on. I want upgraded steel (or at least custom/semi custom handle material options).

And I’d never miss out on a chance to tick another notch in the clip point 501 please box :D:thumbsup:

Crelicam ebony is the Gibson guitar ebony. Gibson Guitars is part owner of the Crelicam mill in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Both the all black and the the Blond (streaked) come from Crelicam. My understanding of what Buck is doing is; They are sorting out the blond and using it in the custom shop. Pure black is used on the production line. You other post didn't mention you were looking for "black", it just said ebony. If you want that knife in pure black, they made 250 of them for the Dec 2018 buck of the month. Watch the exchange and ebay, maybe even put a want add in the exchange. You might find one.

Either way I wang Buck to add satin bolsters as an option. ;)

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t give us the drop/clip option on all the 500 series knives. Since they are adding drop/clip options on the 110/112, it only makes sense :rolleyes::D

Lots of interesting suggestions. An aluminum 112 is a great idea. Unless you want to save money. Then its a terrible idea.
 
“Crelicam” is a terrible name for this ebony, it sounds like a fake synthetic.

it should be called Gibson ebony or Sustainable ebony.

and why would they use black ebony for production and blonde streaked ebony for the custom shop?! Everyone knows pitch black ebony is the cream of the crop!

we really need a 301 custom shop option, it is either criminal or just insane that it is not offered.
 
It's Taylor Guitars and a Spanish tonewood supplier that partnered to purchase the "Crelicam" ebony sawmill.

I've heard nothing about separating dark and light Ebony for production vs. custom knives. In my mind that contradicts everything Taylor is trying to do to change the perception of what Ebony should look like.

I'm with ya. There are a lot of smaller lock backs in that size range with clip points out there...but they're all imported junk that I'm never gonna buy. This would be such a winner...even if I we were the only two people to buy them, they'd be a winner to me :cool:
