If you found $200.....

@OP

You mentioned you liked Kizer. I hadn't heard of them, so I looked them up. The intrepid looks looks so awesome. And only 86 bucks. Is that a good knife that people here like?

For context I love flippers. I own about 6 nice knives. Mainly ZT and Spydercos so far.

?.. ZT0450cf are on my BladeHQ wish...

^^ This^^
It's basically this, only 75 percent smaller. The perfect size !

I bought the 0450cf. We shall see if I made a wise choice

I just saw this. You won't be sorry. Post up your thoughts here of the knife after you get it. Remember, sometimes one has to learn the art of truly enjoying the flipper. Holding the knife a certain way when you flip it will become a second nature and a zen like joy. Have a little patience in the beginning.

I'd put it towards a Spyderco Phil Wilson South Fork or maybe the new Sprig...

Yeah. Extra mags and a ton of bullets.
A fancy looking gun is a paperweight when you run out of bullets.

At $56 per mag 200 won't get you very many. Also, unfortunately, $200 won't get you very much ammo either, unless you have a .22. When dropping about 50 cents per pistol round and a dollar per rifle round it adds up quick. $200 ends up being just an ok day at the range. Kind of crazy.

Got the 0450cf today. What a letdown. Really nice knife just to narrow for me. I don't have large hands and it just felt to small and thin in my hand. Otherwise it's a super knife and I can see why it's so popular. So my quest continues for the $200 knife I gotta have lol

Oh man, that sucks... mine feels like that too I assume - dainty and like it is balanced on your finger tips while opening, hahah. It is just a slim, small, and light knife. Not something I carry all the time, but in shorts, summer time, etc... hard to beat the way it carries. I kind of use the clip to get a decent grip on it and flip the sucker. Its action is amazing, at least on my 0450 with titanium on both sides. I would not give up my 0450. I have a DLT coupon and was tempted to order that variation, but found another Swamp Rat.

Dude, order a 0909. It is a great knife. Carries well, thick enough to handle and flips like a automatic, beefy blade, grippy G10, no frame lock to pussy-foot around. Its weight is a good solid positive thing. I love it.

I'll be that guy. I would go play with the stuff that I already have and save the money. Too many of my knives sit idle to justify new ones. If you want it go ahead, just make sure you have rainy day money.

Really? Do you have any expertise backing that up? I'm personally a little surprised all these people managed to stop pitbulls with an illusion.

http://safetybeforebulldogs.blogspot.com/2014/09/list-of-pit-bulls-that-had-to-be.html?m=1 (Blog doesn't reflect my views, just illustrating a point)

From the blog:

A couple was badly bitten by their own pit bull. The pit bull first attacked the 20-year-old woman, and the man was attacked when he tried to help. When the police arrived they found both people badly bitten with deep lacerations and the pit bull stabbed to death. (mentioned in the video)

A woman tried everything to get a pit bull to stop attacking her corgi before she went to her car to get a knife and then stabbed and stabbed and stabbed the pit bull, but it wouldn't let go. She then slit the pit bull's throat, but that didn't stop it. She had to gut the pit bull from groin to chest before it stopped its attack. She may have permanent nerve damage to her hands.

What I see from the blog is that having a knife is better than not having it. But people got hurt and knife wasn't an effective weapon against dogs. And I believe if there is a choice of having a handgun as an extra -- people should carry them.

You just gotta go full size and pull the trigger on a 0452. It won't feel dainty in your hands, but it does in your pocket at less than 5 oz.

I have way more than enough knives. So I'd take the wife to our favorite steak house and have a good dinner with a good bottle of wine.

glad I did not pull the trigger. Even 0452 feels too narrow in my hand and I dont have big hands.

I am sure the 0450cf is great to carry probably don't even know it is there but thin grips just are a huge turn off for me. My hands are medium and they didn't even come close to filling them. I don't like something that feels like it's going to twist in my hand with use. I'm the same way about pistols. Single stack guns usually give me the same odd feeling (Walther PPS, Springfield XDs, S&W shield) which is why I don't own any

Hey OP, I hope the 0909 works out! I was going to throw my hat into the ring here:

If you're hoping to break into the Spyderco game, I'd highly recommend snagging a Slysz Bowie off the exchange. You can find them for around 200 and I've never, ever been more impressed by a production knife. Truly a thing of beauty, both aesthetically and in its construction.

Good luck with the ZT!
