If you get stuck on an island, would you prefer to have your usual/favorite knife..?

To the original question: It is not, which knife i would wish to have, it is, would i prefer to have my actual favorite or my usual (edc) knife.

Generally yes, because i am used to them.

Actually i edc a modified Benchmade 520. Thinking about water i may wish for another, but i think i could handle that. If one omega spring will break, i can stick.... ok, that´s another topic here.:D

I edc a small fixed blade in rotation too. Would i wish for that? Well it will work, i think and hope.

Would i wish another knife? Not at the moment. Maybe that would change, if i am there? :D

I'd have to have my old, trusty Cold Steel PE Pro-Lite for a folder and perhaps a Bushman for a fixed blade.

If you get stuck on an island, would you prefer to have your usual/favorite knife fixed/folder..? or Would you rather have the more rust resistant water resistant specialized water knife?

This is an island surrounded by water, ala Cast Away where it could be raining a lot and your main source of food might be the ocean..

Remember, this is a scenario where you don't have your usual oil to keep your knife rust free. Just water from the island, rivers, ocean, rain etc..

Sure you'd have oil. Coconut oil.

Fixed-Scrapyard Regulator
Folder-SOG Multi tool

I have experience with both and trust them, thoroughly.

yea id probably stick with what i usually take when i go out hiking just because even though they arent the best knives i trust them, i wouldnt want to get something that is supposed to be higher quality and find out i dont like it or it breaks on me.

Leatherman Wave
Benchmade 550hg
Ontario SP1 ( aside from being a trusted knife for me its coated which id like if i didnt have any way to really keep it from rusting)

I would want a Spyderco Caspian Salt because it has a serrated fixed blade. Would want the fixed because like in Cat Away you will be using the knife for a long time and I am afraid that a folder might break or require tightening and being that you are stranded on an island the necessary tools to do the job aren't there. A rust proof blade is a must because on a island it would be exposed to horrible conditions that would most likely destroy non-rust proof steel. Plus the Caspian is sweet!

Bark River Golok. It's 1080 but regular use and sharpening with fine sand and ground seashell mix would keep the rust away. The shape and length are perfect for this situation.

this is all i need

Stuck on an Island , no chance of rescue , only one knife.... absolutely the Junglas. Not even second thoughts on that.

Thank goodness it's not another kind of island...

That made me laugh pretty hard.

But seriously, I would probably take my usual EDC, small sebenza 21, because when it comes down to it any situation where I NEED a knife it will take care of.

Hmm yeah I'd probably do ok with my edc's Spyderco Tenacious and Leatherman Core if I get to have my edc/ghb pack then add whatever fixed blade is in there Buck 119 right now but it changes often I'd probably be good heck let me take my Condor Golok or 18" Tramontina and I'd probably live very well.
