Depends on what you like. For pure steel performance the Manix 2 Lightweight with S110V outclasses damn near anything else on the market, and not just in the $100 range. But if you want something with a bit more heft, the new H&K 14715 seems like a solid bet with D2 blade, G10 handles and the Axis lock. Then there's the Buck 830 if you dig flippers, great action and a really neat new lock. Or, if you love a good ti framelock, the Kizer 4403 is pretty dang nice. Maybe you like assisted open, talk to Kershawguy and grab a ZT 0566 for just a bit north of $100. Super-beefy folders your thing? Dendra Deer Hunter can be had for right around $109, shipped. No, more of a gentleman's folder kinda guy? Boker Plus Urban Trapper gives you a 3.5" VG-10 blade in a slim-and-trim package that weighs under 2oz. But maybe you don't dig knives made in China, so how about a super-classy Mcusta small Tsuchi?

There are a ton of great choices at or around the $100 price point right now. I don't think I've seen a bad suggestion on this thread, so I'd say check 'em out and see what speaks to you.

At this price range, I will go with the PM2 any day. So much have been said about this blade so why not give it a try. If you don't like it, there is a secondary market out there for it too.

I'd hold on to the $100, and save up until I had $300.... Then I'd snag a Chris Reeve Sebenza 21 ;-) especially if your going to be edcing this particular knife for "years" to come.

;)

Though for $100 either a Sage 1 (spyderco) or a Benchmade 710...

This is qeustion for u all not me I'm not asking a knife to buy I just bought my BM550 and I was going to get a manix 2 but I have enough spyderco I bust wanted to see what u guys would buy

If I didn't have my current collection and was just starting out on a ~$100 budget, I'd buy a Victorinox Rambler, a Victorinox Pioneer and a Spyderco Delica 4 FFG. If I was going to spend $100 on a knife now, I'd probably buy something traditional from Great Eastern Cutlery or Northwoods...

This would be a good choice but they are 99% unobtanium right now.

$100 is sort of a bad price range though. I have a number of good knives from Benchmade and Spyderco that I bought used for just a little over $100. If you can add a few dollars you could buy a used PM2, maybe even a new one. Or a Manix 2 XL, or used Benchmade 710. A new G10 Manix 2 is under $100 and is a real bargain at that price. There are a lot of good knives that you can get for under $100, such as the Delica, Stretch or Endura, or some of the HK models, but they are usually a good drop below $100.
