If you had to buy dinner and a knife for 30$

Benchmark actually makes a nice little fixed blade edc. Got one for my brother-in-law. I'd pick up one of them for $20 and take the rest to Texas Roadhouse for a chopped steak smothered in mushrooms and cheese, green beans on the side. And a cup of chili. One of my favorite meals. Now THAT would be a good night.

OK....you have your basic McDonalds #1 Big Mac combo, about $7.00. With the around $22.00 left over I would go with....
Vic Hiker, $19.99
Vic Sentinel $22.00
Cold Steel Pocket Bushman, $22.00

I'd go for a FRN Byrd Cara Cara and with the remaining 10 or 12 bucks go to one of the locally owned Tex-mex restaurants. They're everywhere around here and generally have pretty good food.

4-pack of Boulevard Dark Truth Imperial Stout ($10), McD's Double Cheesburger ($1) and a Ka-Bar Dozier drop point ($19).

$20 Victorinox Alox Cadet
$10 Bucket of KFC Mixed Chicken

The one thing they have in common is that I don't have either at this moment, but I just recently started daydreaming about them, especially victorinox cadets stuck into KFC chicken... or maybe it was the other way around.

Cold steel pendleton lite 15$ and ihop breakfast sampler with a sprite for 11$.. idk what id do with the other 4$

Steak and lobster dinner.
Comes with a free steak knife, if shoved in pocket.;)

I have too many knives already, so I'd get a liver and onions meal at the local diner, and spend what's left on cheap booze.

@pvicenzi "I have too many knives already, so I'd get a liver and onions meal at the local diner, and spend what's left on cheap booze." so no knife for a month?

As an exercise is making sure I hadn't become a knife snob, one time on a week long trip for work I only took a carry on bag (no knife)

After I got where I was going, I went to walmart and picked up one of their blister packed folding knives (Ozark trail brand iirc) for $1 plus tax. I then took it back to my hotel and sharpened it to almost shaving sharp(it would take hair off of your hand, but I wouldn't want it on my face. Lol) by first using the bottom of the coffee cup provided in the room, then stropping on the hotel supplied note pad (cardboard, then paper) the knife was perfectly serviceable for the week I was there for pocket knife stuff(opening packages, cutting string, cutting apples, ect), and I almost hated to leave it in the room when I was done.

So, there you go. A pocket knife and $28.50 to spend on food!

I also like the swipe a steak knife idea. I've seen tramontina steak knives at a few places, and I bet they are pretty decent if their machetes are a good example of their blades.

Taco platter with borracho beans, rice & three 18 oz. PBR schooners at Fuzzy's Taco Shop ($13.50). Knife - Kershaw Crown ($15) Total $28.50... After I buy the knife I tell my wife I'm broke and she drives me back to Fuzzy's where we sit on the patio and she buys me several more schooners of PBR. :very_drunk: :D
