If You Had To Live With Only One Buck?

Inspired by the "Is it possible?" thread...

It's an artificial question. I just can't imagine having only one.

But, if you had to live with a single Buck knife, what would it be and why?

I'm going to have to think about it before answering...

Probably a 110. Small enough that I can use it for most daily tasks but large enough to accomodate those out of the ordinary things that require a knife from time to time.

Ecolite 112.

Or if they made it, an Ecolite 112 drop point.

I would cry on many days that I no longer owned a "real" Buck with brass and wood, but the Ecolite wins for 3 reasons. 1) It's just amazingly light and I'm not going to backpack with a 110 or 112. 2) The Ecolite handle is better in the hand. The finger grooves really work for me. 3) The Ecolite is "pretty enough". I especially like the lines of the handle of the 112 Ecolite.

Easy answer for me. My stag AG 110.I've carried my stag one most days for almost 6 years. If its not on my belt my reg 110 is. If neither are on my belt then I'm somewhere where a knife is not allowed.
Reasons:
1. Small enough to edc on belt without calling to much attention.
2.Blade large enough to handle most any cutting job that a knife was intended to do.
3.Its a sturdy knife that can handle alot.
4.The s30v seems to hold a good edge for me and only an ocasional light sharpening is needed. (I know some folks dont like the s30v, but I have had no issues with it.)
5.Has enought point to it to handle fine precise cutting jobs.
6.Handle comfortable.
7. Blade shape, thickness, height allows for it not only to excell as an outdoor, work knife but also well in kitchen when in a pinch.

Now with tht said I wouldnt want a beat on it but if I could only have one knife period it would be this one.

I really think I would love that 110 drop point s30v in a Ecolite. Black, preferably. I love the ns black dymondwood I carry a lot. Razor sharp 420HC, just a little heavy to carry sometimes..or forever in this case.

Folder for sure, you can carry a folder anywhere and with any attire. Fixed blade limits carry options. My most frequent EDC since the mid 80's is a Bucklite 422 although lately an Odyssey is seeing alot of pocket time. The 422 is big enough to do many chores and light enough to forget about. Concerning the Odyssey, the flatness and pocket clip make it very easy to carry although the blade is a little too pointy for my taste.

I change my mind, just couldn't part with my NS 110. The Eco's actions not as good. Still want that drop point blade.

SeeBee, here is drop point Ecolite 112 with a 442 blade. It's better than it looks even!

Mine actually has a blackish look to it in person. Maybe someday they'll put the Ecolites out with drop points.

Bucklite 422 Orange.
Because it's a classic folder, it's Orange and it's a Buck. The PERFECT edc!

If there is no chance at all to get a new knife, I always would take a fixed
not a folder. As much as I like the large Buck Folders I think to take a knife
with a thick blade to provide damages is the better choice. My decision would
go to the 119 or better to the 124.

Best,
Haebbie

500 Duke. Big enough and as strong as the 110, drop point blade, slimline and classier looking for carrying to church.

Just one ??? How could anyone be expected to have just one?

This one :D

If it had to be just one, the 916 here, the top one:

If it had to be just two, the 112 and the 916 above. Just three, they're all there, the 916, 112 and 503. :D

Wolfdog, I like your thinking. With that mini sword, you could force all the other Buck owners to hand over theirs!!
