If you had to throw away all your knives but one, which one would you keep?

It would be a kitchen knife. I need to prepare meals more than I need to fillette zombies, or batton wood.

I'd probably keep my ZDP-189 Endura. It's the knife I use most often for general tasks. It stays very sharp and the ergos are great. I own an Emerson, a few Benchmades, and quite a few Spydies, but I find myself continually coming back to the Endura. I know it's not a fancy knife but it does everything I need it to. If I need to chop down a tree I'll use an axe....:p

But you threw it away...

Buck Vantage Small. Light enough for backpacking, and that's the most important thing for me. Plus it has a clip, so it is easy to carry every day. It is great for opening shrink-wrap packages, too.

At least a couple of us would be favoring kitchen knives of some sort. Food prep would be high on my list also, so perhaps something around 7-9 inches in a decent stainless might do the trick. I mean when you stop and ponder this question, everybody here uses kitchen knives in some form or fashion. The chef knife just might be the ticket!
