if you hade 2 knives to have for the rest of your live which would you choose

Fällkniven TK5 and Extrema Ratio Venom. Folders would be too fragile for a rest-of-my-life use, but if I had to, I'll go for my Fällkniven PXL.
 
If I'm choosing from what I have right now, it would be a Vic Spirit and Bark River Northstar. If multitools don't count as knives, then I'd add a Case peanut.

If I get to pick from knives I don't own, I'd take a long look at a full tang Scandi as a contender for the Northstar's position, and a GEC #25 Barlow in place of the peanut.

they don't issue ka-bars anymore, except to personnel whose duty weapon is a pistol.

i haven't heard anything about this knife in these forums, but it served me just fine through a tour in iraq and one in afghanistan, used it for every damn thing. so, that would be my first choice.

second would be a gerber multi-tool of some sort.
