If you were Obama what knife would you carry?

If I were the President of the United States (not necessarily just Obama) I'd carry a Kershaw Leek. Polished G-10 with a mirror polished S30V blade. Either that or I'd get in touch with Ken Onion myself and have a 1 of 1 Presidential Random Task made just for me.

I agree we should keep this thread non-political. Just answer the question and move on.
 
I personally feel that he'd probably carry a USA-made buck slippy. Something like the Lancer perhaps?
 
The question asks what type of knife the top dog of all politicians would carry. It was already political before anyone even answered.

The truth is: His wife probably wouldn't ALLOW him to carry a knife.

A few years ago, some reporters asked for the content of George W's pockets. As it turned out, they were empty. Not even keys. He only wore a basic Timex "Easy Reader" watch.
 
A william henry pikatti... or any william henry would be a great knife for somebody in such a dignified office to carry... even if you don't respect the person, respect the position

if it were possible to keep the politics out of it, it's an interesting question. I'd love a rundown of what everyone pictured each president from the inception of the union using, but the sheer amount of asshattery such a thread would invoke would split the planet in half.

If only. Unfortunately, at most 7 posts are on topic. The rest aren't and most of those are purely political. The OP did what he wanted by getting the politards arguing though, so mission accomplished I guess. :rolleyes:
 
I don't care for this to turn into a political discussion. If I were president, I'd carry a gents knife, probably something damascus. I'm thinking:

I think a Senator pattern slip joint would be appropriate for a former Senator.

If there is a President pattern, that would be the one to carry. If not maybe it's time for one.

Come on and be serious. I can't believe some people actually and truthfully believe that. I am one of the youngin's who actually voted for McCain, but if you think Obama is going to take your guns and knives, you are living in the 19th century.

Wish I knew more about knives to comment as such, but I'd see him carrying something simplistic. I don't think the secret service would allow him to even have time to react and use a knife for defense, only for household tasks.
 
hmmm. If I where obama I would:
A) not be in office (I have a skill for making people dislike me without even doing anything wrong)
B) actualy carry something classy but classic, maybe something along the lines of a laguiole, with a basic look no fancy inlays or anything, just decent wooden handles with brass bolsters ect (I prefer their look to the rounder slipjoint types, plus they lock)
C) I would want to carry something big, maybe a kukri, or annother large knife/almost machete, or maybe a realy big bowie, simply because I could. unfortuenately I can see the secret service not liking that, and it might be quite difficult to hide under a well tailored jacket what whith the body armour (which I assume he would wear, what with the assorted groups (both foreign and domestic) who want him dead)
