Busse BWM. It's not likely to rust, probably never break it. Long enough to slash, strong enough to split wood and proven to be ergonomic while swinging on vines through the forest.
The only down side is you have to make your own loin cloth compatible sheath.

FB, not over 6" blade. Bigger blades can do embarrassing tricks when swing on vines, and a mid-sized knife is the most versatile if you only get to carry one. Something like a Buck 119, with a grippier handle (vine wrapped?).
