If you're a teenager, let us know!

Thanks. Ive been Looking for a small fixed blade for pocket carry. How does it carry in the pocket?
it carries ok in the pocket but i carry my candiru in my back pocket with ease... if you where getting a fixed blade for pocket carry i would recommend that over the izula

I wish they were more abundant around here. I see them sometimes when I go up north to stay in our cabin.

Well, I feel pretty lucky to have sen them, they were actually my favorite animal as a kid and I dont think that theyre supposed to be living around here this far down. It pretty cool to have them there.

O_o Good gravy, Tilts and Sebenzas? I wish I had anywhere close to that kind of money when I was your age. Heck, I'm 27 now and I still don't, lol. Though that's mostly due to car payments, rent, etc... Well, that and the wife threatening to disembowel me with any knife I get that costs more than that arbitrary amount she sets every so often. Thankfully she has no idea how much my PM2 sprints and Busses cost. >_>

In all seriousness though, it is awesome that folks of a younger age bracket have a like and respect for one of man's oldest and most important tools. I wish I had known about this site when I was younger. Perhaps I would've amassed a collection half as great as some of yours by now, haha!

17 here. This is my collection so far after 3 years. (3 years of high quality knives, that is. I got my first knife 10 years ago)

I also have a kershaw crown, a 22 in. Ontario machete, cold steel recon 1, and a crkt M16-12z. All of those are undergoing some modifications right now :D so I didn't picture them.
Sorry for the crappy cell pics.

I'm getting some custom wood scales done for my 0551 soon. After those I need to get an Olight S10 Baton and a Kershaw Camp 10 to split some of the wood we have out back.

Hey, all!

I've enjoyed reading through the thread -- thanks, Chris, it was a good idea.

Not quite a teenager anymore, but at 21 I'm not far off either. ;)

While a setting like this might lead to a little confirmation bias, I'm glad to see that there are a decent amount of others in my generation interested in quality knives, both modern and traditional. It is especially comforting to see a couple of budding knifemakers.

Getting into the knife game this late in this cultural era is a bit worrisome sometimes, as I can't be sure if my generation is willing or able to accept the torch when the time comes.

Oh, and also: y'all with Chris Reeve knives at 15 are crazy! Going back to being an unemployed college student has definitely put a halt to my addiction! Enjoy that free rent while you can ;)

I have been free hand sharpening for 7 or 8 years now, and I will post up a collection pic when I can. The camera is nowhere to be found and the printer is acting up but here are some pics.

I use this little Valley Forge for fruit and fruit only. I like how the yellow in the scales is yellow only after a few days of carry and exposure to light, give it a week in the dark, and it's back to an ivory color.

Here's my Case Medium Stockman in SS. You can see my Leatherman Style with Scissors instead of pliers in the corner. I use the LM on my fishing jacket.

Schrade 897UH, an EXCELLENT knife for the price. SS blades that stay hair popping sharp a lot longer than one would expect. I traded this to a member here for an axe head.

Western Bowie I got for free with a nice sheath. Used in Vietnam and modified by original owner, the blade should be straight for the first 5". Nice carbon steel, hair popping with 25 degree edge.

Beautiful Queen No. 11, anywhere from 58-81 years old. No one took the blade to a stone other than me.

My Mora, I cleaned up the spine and sanded the butt and burned in a sunset pattern so I can tell which side the edge is on when it's in the sheath.

I have a GEC #53 in Blue Oyster acrylic, a Vic Recruit, A LM Fuse, and about 20 other old slipjoints, not really any big brands but still of good quality, and some others that I have locked up that I can't remember.

Cheers,
Connor

Love that fixed blade ConBon, they're all nice but the blade shape makes me think of my KA-BAR 1247, that thing should be a great chopper.

I joined BF when I was 18. 31 now.
