"I'll take it" or not

Honestly the basic system works. You see something you want. You reply to the thread saying "I'll take it" and then you send a PM asking for their PayPal info. They send you their info. You pay. They send the knife. You cut some stuff. The end. :)

Works for me

If you would like to name names go right ahead.

Leaving retaliatory feedback on a deal that didn't happen is now a 50 point infraction... you can thank Spark for that :)

90 day ban to be specific. We were working up to that since the original 20 pointer worked occasionally.

At least they had the courtesy to tell you they had changed their mind. I've had people post "I'll take it", send me an email to which I respond with my pp info then mysteriously drop all communication. A simple "I'm not interested any more" would been much appreciated.

This is after they paid in some cases.

Ok - so now I think I'm being trolled. Ha. Just got an "I'll take it. PM Sent" post from a new user with only that post. And no PM.

Must be Thursday. Never could get the hang of Thursdays. :D

For me, it's a matter of honor. I decide whether or not I want something, then communicate to the seller. Once I say "I'll take it", it's a DONE DEAL in my mind. No going back, no waffling, no negotiating.

To do otherwise reflects badly on me as a buyer, and as a human.

It happens on all forums unfortunately. It's good to see that there is a negative point system here.

I was referring to the post on retaliatory feedback on the previous page, didn't read forward to that. Thanks.

This. I consider the "I'll take it" to be the equivalent of a handshake on a deal. The deal is done, you've agreed to terms and now you need to stick to them. I've missed out on several blades that I wanted because someone else claimed it in the thread while I was contacting the seller. I'd far rather need to keep looking for a knife I want than make a seller feel like I wasn't honest in my dealings with them. Word gets around, as it should.

How true! Also......there should be NO negotiations after the 'I'll take it'!!
I'm in NJ and have an HVAC business. You would be amazed at the amount of people that agree to a price and want to chew me down after the work is done. Not a very classy move at all.
😡😡😡

I had a sale thread* the other day, and also got a "email sent" from a noob, and I never actually received anything. I got a message from another super low post count new person with a couple questions on one of my knives and I immediately responded with all the info requested aaaaannnndddd...no further response. This sort of thing has happened on all of my sales posts in the past too.

I hate to say it but when I get messages from low post count/new members, I'm really starting to be nonchalant about returning them. Just too many noob tirekickers on this board these days.

*And a happily successful one!
