but the interwebs led me to you fine collectors. I've got a huge collection of blades that up until tonight I was pretty proud of. Turns out I got junk!
I searched survival knives on the youtube this evening when I stumbled upon the most beautiful knife I've ever seen. A Busse Tank Buster. I'll be honest, I was aroused...

I then hit the google for answers. These knives are like golden Unicorns! Where, what, how can I find one??? Then I found this oasis.

Can one of you kind sirs point me in the direction I can spend 1, 2, 17 paychecks on some of these blades I've seen tonight? I bout wore myself out in the pics thread.

Your help would be more than appreciated.

Happy Stabbings

Welcome to the sickness!!! First buy a gold membership (you need it to sell off the blades you will soon be replacing!!!) Scour the exchange!!! Post a Want to Buy thread in the Exchange section.

Hold on and sit tight...this is a fun place!!!

Well thank you for the tips. I'm not sure how much of a crowd my collection would draw after some of the stuff I've seen in here.

I poked around in the exchange section for a minute or two. Seems you gents speak in code in there. Guessing mostly specific model names or Number. :)

this might be a littler tricky to get the hang of for a while.

Welcome to the forums! I am pretty sure that here you will find a Tankbuster: 24°42′42″N 46°43′27″E

It's the bottom knife in the pic

But be warned: no paycheck in the world will make this one yours. You can only take it from my cold, dead hands - because this is an awesome knife and I will never let it go!

So better check out the exchange: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/804-Busse-Swamprat-Scrapyard-Knives-For-Sale

;) :D

The Busse acronyms are one of the most intimidating things about being a noob. Here's a great link to acronyms http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/330784-Busse-Help-Site-Acronyms-Porn-Links-and-Definitions
Also, the catalog link at http://www.bussecollector.com/ is really helpful too. There are two places besides right here (via ganzaas) to get Busses direct. First is http://www.bussecombat.com/home/index.shtml and second is http://www.bussecompanystore.com/
The second hand market is expanding all of the time but the Busse Exchange here on bladeforums and e-bay are the biggest. Beware of evilbay is all I can say. Do your homework. Different versions of the same knife can have huge value differences. Have fun and welcome to the madness.

Adam....You have bigger problem than you realize.
TB is not THE only one you want. There are many, many other Busse...Ask how I know.
BTW...Just a noob, like you.

Welcome to the forum!

Please do a lot of research (just reading in the for sale area)
of the different models and what people are asking for them.
that will give you an idea of "going prices"
an educated buyer is rarely an unhappy one.
this is a good time to get a great price on the secondary market.

Linking to a sales thread probably isn't a good idea...
This was brought up in Service and Support a little while back, according to Spark its ok as long as its a BF Dealer and an internal link. Non BF dealers and outside links are still verboten.

Thanks for the heads up... still doesn't make it right.

Underscore, you have great taste, obviously... Shop around before buying anything from anyone on Bladeforums.

Welcome aboard Adam,

As was posted earlier, be sure to do plenty of research. Once you find some models you like use the search function in the Busse exchange to see what they've been selling for. Also, it may seem that one specific knife may be fetching much more than others that are very similar, but it may be some extremely rare and sought after variant. Embrace the addiction and have fun!

My name's Adam too!

Hey guys, thanks a ton for all your help and suggestions. As I've searched further, I've found numerous models that tickle my sensitive spots.

Bare wither me plz, I'm a member on many forums so I'm no rookie on forum function however it may take me a little time to read all the stickys and pick up on the rules around here.

That said, I'll be here a while. Most of my knives are for use, I'm not sure if I'll get into the high value collectibles, they're beautiful none the less.

Agreed 100%, there's a lot of rules I dont agree with.... I'd prefer to carry whatever blade I want, be it a Battle Mistress or not, but I cant. I'd prefer to carry my 1911 open for all to see, but I cant. I'd love to be able to drive as fast or as slow as I want, but I cant. Target practice in the back yard, yes! well no. Ad infinite. It doesn't make the rules right, they're just the rules. :(
