I'm a punk noob

That might be cool. Somebody contacted me about having a few, I think I'll pick one up off him. Only problem is I didn't know they were that pricey. He has a sage / standard handle for $400 that I really like. Now I just gotta put the funds together.

Do you have other models also? I'd be interested in taking a look at some other blades offered.

To give you a sense of the market, I sold a Tankbuster in excellent condition with a Kydex sheath for $345 shipped and paypalled a few months ago. It's a buyers market right now, a little patience goes a long way....

I would recommend buying a gold membership and putting up a "Want to Buy" for a Tankbuster and with a firm price you are willing to pay - people will contact you. I think that $330 to $360 shipped and paypalled is a fair price for a combat grade in new to excellent condition.

I'm working on a master factory price list and recently sold for price list to post up for Busse models to serve as a priceguide for dudes in your shoes... Hopefully I'll have some free time to get it done soon.

Oh yeah, WELCOME TO THE MADNESS!!!!!

Tank Buster is a great mid sized starter!

It will be a stout indestructible knife.

Busse's are pricy, but worth the money.

Spend a little while cruising the for sale forum before laying out cash. On the same day, I have seen the same knife model with two sheaths sell for 100 less than the same model, with no sheath.

There will be a huge price difference amongst sellers, including dealers.

Hahahahaha
I knew it!
boy,even spammed on BF
Im not laughing at you underscore.
Serious,browse the sales forum
Busse / Swamp Rat / Scrapyard Knives For Sale
and save yourself some money.

btw, although getting a Gold Membership and supporting the forum is a good thing,
you can post a Wanted To Buy as a "regular" member,
you just cant see any of the other posts in there (so it looks deserted to you,but its not)

I do have couple of different models but they are for my collection only, not for sale. If you want to take a look in person, I will help you out with what I have. I am fairly new to Busse myself so my collection is nothing compared to some of the folks on here.

Oh, I know... I wasn't trying to buy them. I was just thinking it would be a cool opportunity to see, feel a few models before I pull the trigger on one of these hogs.

i got a satin and black paper with a chubby bear dangler sheath for $370 a few months back. sheath sells for around $100 alone. the satin ones really are much nicer imho. also you have to decide - swedge, no swedge, small choil, big choil, no choil. and flat or pointed butt. be sure to check out all the varieties before you take the dive. there are also a few one offs that are nice too.

I find this deeply disturbing, and I know I am not the only one. Does the $400.00 include 5% for Paypal and shipping costs? If not you will need to factor that in, so you are really looking at approx. $450.00... Unreal!!!

Just so there is no confusion, I'm not mad at you Underscore.

Nope, $10 for shipping +5% Paypal fees.

400 is high by itself ....ask someone if they think it is a good price......

Underscore,
Welcome to the illness.
I've seen basically every knife I would be interested in come up on the exchange over the last month or two, and like the others mentioned it is a buyer's market.
I recommend you educate yourself as a consumer as to what any knife you might be interested in and decide ahead of time what it is that you are going to expect to pay total(including shipping and paypal).
Plenty of knives are around, take your time and read the exchange a lot.
Also, you will then have a good idea that the knife you want is really the knife you want.
Then when your knife pops up, you'll know for sure that is is the right knife and that you are getting a fair deal.
Be patient.

Welcome to BladeForums!

AFAIK, you do not have to be a Gold level member to post a WTB. You can post one, but you won't be able to see any other than your own.

Good luck in your quest. 17 paychecks will be a good start. Do your kids have a college fund that you can raid?

Like others have mentioned, I think you can do better then 4 bills for that. Just be patient and review the exchange often. If your going to spend 400 though-you can get a nice bush whacker mistress - BWM - which is more bang for your buck imo. Always remember one thing also. Trust NO1!

Are there bad dealers on here or something? The dude that contacted me is a dealer on here with great feedback. It was $400 for a brand new TB

HAHAHAHA ....Not all Dealers are created equal. Send a PM or email to others and ASK if they think it is a good price. Dealers make a living "dealing" ie....making money. Sometimes not the best way to go. Some have really great blades at great prices...others are only concerned with maximizing profits.

If your lucky the best your gonna do is around $300-$350 for a brand new TB. me personally i would rather pay the extra $50 for security, convenience and choice that a respected dealer provides. Not to mention most non dealers wont ship to Australia...
