Well, here I am again. Got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon late. The nurse is coming in about an hour to change leg dressing and check me over.

I'm on a dosage of antibiotics so high the pharmacist didn't want to issue the meds yesterda and called for verification. Everybody knew it was high so kept me in hospital for the first 24 hours to see if the meds were going to kill me or not. They didn't.

I'll be on meds and will have to spend most of my time in a reclinging position with leg elevated for the next ten days. Then it'll take about another three weeks for the leg wound to heal up completely. And, I may get stuck with some physical theapy for both leg and heart.

It is a pain!!!!!!!! But what's the alternative?

My great thanks to all for prayers and well wishes, calls, cards, emails and flowers! You are a great bunch and you don't know just how much I appreciate all your efforts on my behalf.

So, I'll be around -- slow for awhile but I intend to catch up and to be around. I'm looking for a laptop so I can do some stuff while I'm on my back. Hard to kill and hard to keep down.

Thanks again, all.

Uncle,
It's good to see you back! You sure have a knack for getting yourself in trouble lately don't you? We're all glad to see you back safe and well on your way to recovery. Take care of yourself.

Regards,

Rob

Welcome back, Uncle!

There's a rumor going around that beer is a good natural antibiotic, but check with your Doc about drug interactions with your meds. If given a choice between meds and beer, I would take the beer, but then I'm getting more into "natural medicine" (or at least "self-medication"

).

BTW, being stuck in a reclined position for a while is a good excuse to buy a laptop, right?

Let's hope that you won't have any more health problems for quite a while.

Welcome back again Uncle! I'm glad that all the prayers helped. Too bad you couldn't get a recliner type chair with an over head monitor and a key board attached to the arm rest. This way you can rest up and play in cyber space at the same time. Take care and I'll give you a call soon.

Welcome back! It is a pain to put up with the "stay off your feet" orders, but it is a good chance to catch up on your reading! That Bowie is one serious piece of steel! It is going to my wife's collection, as a birthday present, she fell in love with it as soon as the beast was unwrapped. I should have the handle on the 15" blem fixed today, so we are both in "new knife nirvana" at the moment.

Glad you're back, Uncle Bill. I was quite surprised to get back into town after a two-week absence, only to find out that you had been back in the hospital. In a couple of days I'm going to have to leave for at least another week and I surely hope that when I get back you're totally AOK. You'll be in my prayers.

Many thanks, all. I am happier about being back than you are, believe me!

I know they are necessary and save a lot of people but hospitals are the pits when you are on the inside looking out.
