Just got back in from the WLC Winter Survival Course. All in all, we had 7 students take the course. I'm absolutely beat from teaching, driving and just trying to stay warm. Pics are being uploaded to photobucket right now and will be posted soon. Great to be back on the forum and out of the cold!

Good to see you back safe and sound. Welcome back, bro. Nothing went to crazy while you were gone ;)

Can't wait to see those pics.

Improvised bottle hanger during the 30 minute challenge. Cost? One perfectly good snare at the expense of boiling water and a first place finish.

You running a Kifaru pack there Kev?

The class wasn't on just fuzz sticks. Students created hemlock twig bundles (Jerry has a great pic), larger fuel and so on. We showed them how to make fuzzies if no other option was available.

Robert,

I had two Kifaru packs with me, my Tailgunner I and my Zulu with an E&E pocket attached. I mainly carried the Tailgunner and used the Zulu for organization. I just picked up a great sled from Marty made by Wildeness Engineering. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a large pack.

Time for more pics:

Great stuff Kev, the tent setup looks toasty enough. Just how warm was it with the stove in there? Any cooking done on the stove?
