I'm buying my first spyderco tomorrow. HELP!!

I bought my first Spyderco last week. I walked into the store kind of intending to buy a Delica, and walked out with a SE Native.

You really can't go wrong with any Spyderco, they're all great knives. Handle as many as you can, and purchase the one that speaks to your heart. For me, I really liked the Native.

Give the Harpy a look. I've edced a Harpy for 7 years. Very comfortably to carry, can be used for most utility tasks, and excellent for any one with limited SD skills. I own 3 Harpys.

Hi guys. I just came home from the store with my first ever spyderco.... the wave Delica4 in PE. I spent an hour oggling and handling the choices. I narrowed it down to the Endura variants, the delica 4s, and the caly3. It was almost the caly3 but the store didnt have the PE, only SE. Between the Endura and the Delica, I got inclined to the delica coz Ive heard guys hear refer to it as a classic. what better "first knife" would I have then but a Classic! I love it. the wave is easy to learn and very addictive. The wave D4 will definitely be my last spydie. What should I buy next? Thanks a lot guys, you really were a BIG help.

I guess we all saw that coming ;) .

Congrats on the purchase, and enjoy the knife !

I reccomend a sharpmaker now though, before another knife.

After that you might want to look at serrations and what they can do.

Good luck !

I meant.. " The wave D4 will definitely NOT be my last spydie"
You made a good decision, my congrats! :) My first Spydie was a Delica (model 3) as well and my last Spydies (today) were a Kopa turquoise and a Kiwi MOP/abalone. Between them I found a full range of other Spydies and the same range is available for you; feel free and happy Spydie-using :D

Thanks for the reply sherlockbonez,Mav,gkruty, and fullerH. Makes me feel at home right away. Im in the Philippines and we have a few selections here (far as I Know) We have no legal limitations as to length of blade so long as you dont brandish it infront of people's faces. As of now, price is not a problem. Im kind of inclined with the Delica 4 PE or the Caly3 (read great reviews.). I think I saw a Millie too but dont quite know bout the Native. am i on the right track about the Caly3?

Hi jig! Like you, I'm also a new Spydie owner and from the Philippines. It took me a few weeks to finally decide what would be my first Spydie. I chose a Military mainly because like the Delica it is considered a classic Spydie.

It won't be long before I decide to buy my second Spydie. If you don't mind me asking, "Where did you buy yours?" It's quite difficult to find Spydies here and the only store that I've been to which had a number of models is at the Survival & Outdoor Equipment store. The models that they have now are the following: Delica, Endura, Civilian, Captain, Spin, Swick, Karambit, Manix, Manix 80mm, Adventura, Jester, and a Gunting. I'd like to take a look at some other models before I decide to get another one.
