I'm going off topic here: firearms!

Necro'd thread. I didn't find my grail 945, but I did score a Colt CCO stainless. It looks a lot better in the picture than in person. Colt's QC is inconsistent, though this is not a newer manufactured gun. I won't have a problem getting it customized, really there are only a handful of Colt pistols that shouldn't ever be molested from their factory state.

That looks like a pretty decently maintained specimen. Have you fed it yet?

The 'broker has a few 945s right now north of 1300 bucks.

Have yet to do so. Took a look at gunbroker. It's been a while since I've seen a 3.75" or 4" 945 there, but they do have a nice 5" for under $1k. Doesn't have its factory sights though, got a scope stuck on it, though that's nothing too hard to fix.

I had one of the early Portuguese assembled blued Hi Powers back in the late 80's. Nice gun. Mag disconnect went away early on. You have to be careful when lightening the trigger on those things because you can overdo it and end up with an illegal full auto slam fire pistol some of the time. LOL. I changed the sights out because mine was the purist model. It did have the extended safety, bit it had the old style fixed sights. The other thing that I did was take off the stock wood grips and replaced then with rubber Pachmyrs with the back strap insert deleted and the wrap around front strap cut off with an exacto knife so all that I had were the "scales" which are much more low profile than the stock wooden ones and a much better design that the hard plastic grips that came on the "modern" versions.. I did the same trick on a couple of Walther PPK and PPK/S models and it is a cheap and comfy fix.

Here'a a pic of my Madd Maxx 5.5...

I apologize for 1. the shitty quality of these pictures and 2. the different sizes but they have all been taken at different times. so they don't really match up.

My Para-ord 14-45 lda. When I bought this it looked like this

Then I polished it up myself and now it looks like this. I actually just started out wanting to re polish the flats but got a bit carried away.

and "the man with no name" I was one of the first to order one and thus had to wait almost 2 years before it arrived. The silver snake was had made by the same old Italian fellow who carved the original one Clint Eastwood used in the good, the bad, and the ugly. So I had to wait for him I guess. Well worth it though in my mind as I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan/gun nut It was something I had to have.

I have several more long guns but these pistols are my favorites plus I had the pics handy

Hey, bren, how are you liking the LDA trigger? I've been meaning try one of these, but never find any available for rent. From my understanding it's similar to an HK LEM trigger, which is on my personal firearm.

The trigger took a little getting used to, at least for me being used to a standard 1911 trigger. But I'll tell you what, now I love it. I forget the stats like weight of pull but it is very light. It really doesn't feel like a double action at all. I strongly suggest you try one if you ever get the chance.

Well, I don't own a DDR/HTM yet but will soon. A GunHammer is my next purchase after my Socom Delta arrives. And I just can't miss a firearm thread so...

Just got this one from my brother, unfortunately he didn't take very good care of it. But the makeover will begin soon!

Can't tell what caliber the XD is. Have you given her a good workout yet? I'm quite fond of the grip safety on the XD.

It's chambered for 40 S&W. Thought about the 45, but 40 is cheaper. I haven't broken her in yet. I'm trying to make sure I'm comfortable with handling it and that I get all of my safety and maintenance stuff together before I bring in ammo. As a new handgun owner, I want to make sure I'm being as safe as possible.

Good man. Strip her down and remove all the cosmoline or packing grease. Then lube the crucial wear points like the rails. It's polymer framed, so it doesn't need much. I like Weaponshield since it's non-carcinogenic and smells better than armpit hair (Ballistol).

Ok I can't resist.......here is another one of mine........

A MKIV 70 Series which I purchased practically new about 15 years ago, and built as a carry gun. (I don't think it even knows what a holster looks like!:D)
