I'm going off topic here: firearms!

Anchors Aweigh!

That sig is nice. At some point, I'm going to go for a nice 1911 and make my own grips for it. Maybe some desert ironwood or something.

As a boy I always loved the guns built by Austen Behrlert.

I am fortunate enough to have a 1911 Colt Lightweight Commander built by Austin. He had his gunshop north of Philadelphia, Pa and a bit west. Bought it from him when the original owner retired, around 1989. I shot it a great deal at "our" indoor range in Carlisle, Pa. It has always been my favorite and most-used Colt.

I'm drooling all over the keyboard looking at these beauties.

I have a Beretta Bobcat .22 which is fun and cheap to shoot. I also have a .45 by Para that was sold to the Marines at Camp Leatherneck Afghanistan. It is tricked out with tritium sights, etc. Very reliable 15 round shooter. Lastly I have my regular and compact sized .45 HK USP's. The HK USP was the gun that won the competition for a new pistol for the SOCOM teams. The HK's are my favorite, and because I reload .45acp I can shoot them every week without breaking the bank. They are the most reliable pistols I have ever owned.

I've got an XDm 9mm 3.8 full size that I love. Zero failures of any kind and it is very comfortable to hold.

A couple days ago I picked up a Gen. 3 Glock 23 and four mags. Looking forward to shooting it here in a couple days.

The 75/85 is a brilliant pistol. Here is my old gal..........

They're even more brilliant in Accu-shadow form. Accus come with a barrel bushing and short reset trigger. The one I posted has an 85 Combat slide release fitted to the Shadow frame. Also has front/rear trits and g10 VZ Grips.

I like my ambi controls.

Yours is an absolute beauty.

Thanks bud, what's happened? You have gone blue?

Long story short, RL concerns. I almost left the country to work over seas because I couldn't find work here. By chance, I got accepted into grad school, so that has occupied my time ever since. The gun was a treat to myself as a birthday present for me and as a milestone marker for my life for getting accepted into the graduate program. I actually just picked it up yesterday. The pic was one my builder sent me. It is a CZ Custom shop "custom" Accu-shadow. It has a 3.1 pound single action trigger pull with no pretravel/overtravel thanks to the short reset trigger. Double action is 8.16 pounds.

Good for 2 3/8 inch groupings at 50 yards.
