I was born and raised in Brooklyn. Aside from the time I spent in the Navy I’ve lived all my life in New York City. Most of my family has been out of New York for some time. I have been looking to get out of New York for a long time and the time has finally come for me to leave.

The company I work for has about 14 offices accross the country and the owner of the Houston office is an old friend of mine and we’ve come to an agreement. So Wed. Feb. 2nd I’m off to Texas.

I’ve got my flight and a hotel room by the office. I’ll be spending a lot of time at the office. I need to hit the ground running. This is a whole new chapter in my life and I’m really looking forward to it.

Ohhhhhh....REQUIRED KNIFE CONTENT.....I’m taking all of my knives with me. :D

Where the hell are you going to get good pizza, knishes, cannoli, calzones, and Italian ices in Texas ? ! :D :D Seriously, I have friends who have moved there and love it - I'm sure you will too. Good luck.

Good luck, I was out to Houston in the 80's when the building was at it's peak, it was a different place back then.

It was a money town, you could make lots of it and live well for what ya made.

I didn't like the weather, so I left.

Once again, best of luck to ya. :)

I predict you will really enjoy the change in Weather!! I was out in Houston last Monday on business and I found the roads very hard to understand..but I am just a Hilllbilly.. coming from the Big Apple you will probably be navigating with ease very soon after your arrival.

Good Luck!!

Phil,

I wish you all the luck in the world. You will be missed at the NY shows. :( It was always a good time when we all hung out together. :)

Congrats buddy...I envy you leaving this frozen hell...If you want me to watch your knives for ya while you get settled...heh heh..heh...I would be glad to..

Phil...you will find no problem with fine dining in Houston. You can get everything from authentic, homestyle Italian, to Hungarian. The summers are going to be hell for the first few years, though.

Good luck Phil, you will be about 100 miles northeast of me. The one thing you may not like is the traffic and the first few summers will probably be rough.

Good Luck Phil! The first thing you will miss is all the red tape and bureaucraps. There is a lot more freedom in Texas than what you had to give up in New York. You will not need a license or permitt to purchase a handgun, you can carry a knife without hassel from the police. There are also a lot of good folks down there. You will have to learn some new language stuff, and some may note you have an accent. My son learned to talk texan real quick, you will also.
Good Luck and just maybe you will find one of those cowboy action outfits to throw in with.
Take Care Friend
Ed

I don't think anybody's traffic is going to bother the man from Brooklyn! :D

One problem, Phil -- your stag handles are going to require a lot more care under those Texan skies. If you like, I could probably find a few FRN handled knives to trade you for them. One less thing to worry about, huh? Hmmm?

Welcome, Phil. Texas is a great place to live. Even though I think about it from time to time I can't really imagine living anyplace else.

Deserters will be shot!...

Naw, just kidding...

Good luck man. Good move, living under the direct threat of terrorism sucks!

Well Howdy and welcome to the Lone Star State, PhiL!

Hope everything goes smoothly and y'all make yourself ta home. Best of luck and succes on your move. Watch out for the stinkin' fire-ants!!!! :)
