I'm sick...any suggestions?

The banana is not a good thing if you are nauseated. It is somewhat difficult to digest. It is good for stopping the flow from the other end, however.

A banana that had seen service in the latter application would be difficult to eat, let alone digest.

Very funny!! I eat my banana's and prefer they do their magic upon the exit from within-

We're almost ready for the Gerbil jokes....

A gerbil is walking alone in the jungle and spots a banana tree....

:p

..and a Chimp falls from the tree. A one in a million event occurs, and the Chimp, a Banana, and a Gerbil happen to occupy the same space at the same time when the Chimp strikes ground.

I know I am a little late in offering my humble inpit and maybe better late than never.
Didn't read all the posts but many and agree with the concensus; would like to add one thing.
It is generally the loss of potassium with liquid stools that causes the symptoms of body ache, fatigue, weakness, headache in the absence of other problems like fever, or something more serious than mild food poisoning or flu.
So Gatorade is OK as is a salt and sugar mix but these offer more sodium than potassium and will not releive the symptoms mentions
A few capsules of a potassium salt can make all the difference, avaiulkable at any heath food store, Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods, probably at Wal Mart and target or a pharmacy too.

The answer to the gerbil infestation is a ferret. The banana will prevent the ferret from leaving before he finishes the job at hand. The Boy Scout motto ~ "Be Prepared". That's why I always have a banana and a ferret in my pocket. Really, though, I have had good success with Immodium AD. I had to use it and pepto to survive a bad batch of sushi while in Japan. Both ends in trouble all night,2 hours sleep and then 13 hours of hard core work in a bunny suit in the cleanroom. Caught a nice parasite while I was over there too that had a groovey 3 week life cycle you could set your calender by!
