I'm sick, lost my DPX HEST

I carry it all the time. The clip widened a bit and fell out of my pants when I was moving. I picked it up and saw what it had done. I was teaching one of Ayoob's advanced courses so I had to watch the students very closely. Instead of securing it in my bag I stuck it back in my pocket using the clip which I thought would hold. I taught the class and forgot about the clip. When I got home the knife was gone. What hurts so bad is that it was MY fault. I'm just bitching because it hurts so bad when I was stupid. I have to tell someone so I'm telling you folks. Frack, dang, darn. :barf::barf:

After a clipped Leek slid into my girlfriend's couch for 3 days I took all clips off. So far I've never had a pocket carry fall out.
Bad luck, man.

Ouch! Thats gotta hurt. If I was in your shoes, I would be really pissed off, mainly at myself.
BTW, did you try to go back and locate the knife?

If it makes you feel any better, I lost a CRK Large 21 Silver Dog Paws Sebenza this year. Still makes me sick.....!!!

Fixed or folding? Expensive either way. Im sorry you lost your knife, that always sticks in my craw when it happens to me.

Start searching around where you had it, it may turn up.

I had a few knives fall out of my pockets in the past. I had thought that my Griptilian fell out my pocket one day, but the pocket clip had actually snagged the couch threads and was hanging on the fabric lol. I went crazy looking for it.

Kind of same thing happened when my knife once clipped itself from my pocket to my satchel. I went s**tnuts trying to find it from the grass. Then I noticed. :D

Someone has a nice new knife. Hopefully, they will turn it in or track you down ... I'd try to get the word out. You never know!

Man I did this with my zt 350 a while back the clip bent and fell out while jumping into a golf cart luckily someone saw it fall out and I was able to go back and pick it up

Thanks guys, I'm retracing my steps today. If it can be found it will be, I work with very honest people. I was teaching at SERP and my range is on the right away from the public range. I had lunch at Panera Bread on Broadway and they are really good folks. However just to make certain I have the blade I want my wife let me order one this morning as my birthday present. Today I'm carrying a RAT 1 so I feel quite well equipped.

This ^^^^. threefeathers testimony concerning the perils of using clips isn't the first nor will it be the last.

Sorry to hear about your loss, threefeathers. If it's any comfort to you, I wouldn't consider it your fault that you lost a knife because it came unclipped. Knife clips are ubiquitous and people simply assume they're safe to use. Your experience and the experience of many, many others would appear to indicate otherwise. It would only be your fault if you lose your next knife the same way you lost this one.

I'd say this was a blessing for you. Who needs a knife with the name of a major d-bag on the blade?

Lol, yes let's kill all clips!

No....... Just make sure they're tight and carry them in a way that minimizes the chance of the knife falling out. I recommend IWB because it's never failed me.

How exactly do you think carrying it loose in your pocket will prevent loss? Maybe if you never sit down, or you wear really tight pants

Simple. Don't spend time upside down with your knife in your pocket.

Now THAT I cannot do:D

But in all seriousness, for every story about a knife with a clip being lost, there's one about a knife without a clip sliding out of someone's pocket while they are sitting down. It's happened to me a few times before, but I've NEVER lost a clipped knife (especially not when it was clipped IWB)

I've been here a long time and from what I've seen, the number of knives that have come unclipped vastly outweighs the number of knives that have slid out of people's pockets.
