Infraction or not, I could care less. I'm so sick of the double standard around here for dealers, and the "force it down your throat" sales approach some dealers use. The advanced search is basically rendered useless, because dealers are allowed to post links to every other freakin knife they have for sale within every thread for EVERY knife they sell. Not to mention they're allowed to sell within the Individual Seller section... so you'll get lost amidst the dealer seller section... I don't care. If someone has half a brain, they'll find you no matter where you're allowed to sell. Now you're even allowed to link to your For Sale thread within the discussion area? And why is it so taboo to discuss dealer practices? I guess you're more important to Busse and BF because you bought 5000 knives and never used one, while I've only owned 14 and beat the snot out of every one. I don't need to name names, and if I'm shooting myself in the foot should I ever need a dealers service, so be it. I don't care if its how you make a living, or put food on the table. I don't care if you paid BF more to have a little tag under your name. Its hard enough to find a Busse knife, and it's already hard to swallow that you're going to pay an arm and a leg for a superior knife... I'm tired of typing in a particular model into "search" and then scrolling down through pages of the same dealer's threads. I'm sick of newbs joining our friendly community only to be immediately hit up by dealers pushing their inflated knives. You're providing a service. Great. You put in leg work. Great. Provide your service in the designated area, and allow people to come to YOU.

Man... so damn aggravating!

+1, a very annoying practice

I am french , and very active on a french forum where dealers have no place: more exactly, makers could present their job, without any price, and there's a section where you can buy and sell, only individuals, never dealers. Dealers are well known however and do not really suffer of the practice. Comming here, it's a fact that it's a bit surprising. I do not know what to say: Busse's are so rare in Europe, so finding a so large offer here is a good thing for europeans, but indeed it creates other problems. As said above I made two searches ("Mofo" and "Terror Monkey", noit sure) and had to read three pages of sell posts by dealers... :-).

I've had the same thoughts about the exchange. If there is a designated forum for dealers, why do they get to sell in the Busse exchange? Most of the time I won't even open a thread started by dealers.

Right... I think... Dealers serve a purpose. They help find those hard-to-find knives. But they should do it in their own section and they should steer clear of the discussion section where all to often their motives are only to sell their knives. And not all dealers are the same. I wont paint them all with the same brush. I've come across quite a few who seem more genuine than others. Quite a few who have offered me cheaper "users" just because they know they are tough to find.

Well the excuse *whaaaaaaaa* is that the dealer section is full of dealers selling more than one brand and a dealer selling Busse exclusively gets lost among everyone else. So what. Search is a search is a search. If I type Busse into the dealer section, I'll find Busses. I don't need the Individual Seller section cluttered with a million dealer threads.

I agree: it's like a little fog in the general discussion. Every time I open a post there's a reference (direct, or a link as you said) to a sale. Strange for me, who is used to see the nicest knives sold by PM only. We have here in Europ only one Busse's dealer, not a cutlery, a guy who buy here and sell abroad. Very nice guy, never a word about selling in the forum, not even a link to his site in his signature. Some pics from time to time of nice Busse's, for sale or not.

Don't sell yourself short, Knife Hunter is a good guy to deal with.

Adrock1978, well done.

I agree 100%. I wasn't trying to single anyone out. He's helped me plenty of times. Still though, fair is fair and dealers should stay in the dealer section. We know who they are... if we want a knife, we know where to find THEM.

I know it means very little, but I haven't found a dealer here I didn't like.

Get to know them before you deal with them, you might be surprised what you learn. :)

1000% agreed!
Knife Hunter is a really "good guy"
Im sure you all are aware of this by his
"genuine" helping replies in threads

if youve been here a little while,
you already know what Im talking about...

I too agree completely with adrock1978's post.

That being said, I will say too that Knife Hunter is a great guy to deal with; I've done Busse business with him in person several times here in NoVa and have always found him to be generous and informative. He gets my highest recommendation.

+1 million!

T is my boy and he knows it.

I would also add to this thread that, if you paid for a dealer membership you should display your dealer green.

+1. T is a good man!

I 100% agree with the OP's statements. There is a Dealer section in the Exchange. The people with Dealer tags should be made to post their for sale ads there, and leave the Individual sellers Exchange area for Individuals.

I don't care if dealers post in the Busse sales forum, I want all the Busses in one spot. You learn quickly who the dealers are and can avoid them if you choose. My complaint is that generally speaking, dealers remove the sales price once a blade is sold and its tough to get a feel of what a blade is going for when doing a search. Free choice means you have the ability to not click on some thing and certainly not to buy something.

Wow, I just posted almost the same thing yesterday......

Next thing you know Dealers will be above normal BF rules....

I don't frequent that area, but I don't like anybody removing the prices. I hear it is because they might price it different next time or whatever. Hell, I understand if something costs more next time. But it makes it hard as hell to get a reference point if every time you look at somebodies knives the prices are gone. And if you're trying to sell your own knife it's hard to gauge what it is currently worth and a fair price to ask for it.

Ok. Fair enough... but... I searched for a Tank Buster: How do you avoid this?

**removed search link**

So I should skip to the second page of all my search results because someone chooses to put "tank buster" in every ******* thread he has?
