They are already!!!! Go post a for sale thread in the dealer section and see what happens! Go post a link to your for sale thread in the general busse discussion area and see what happens. Bump one of your for sale threads in less than 72 hours and see what happens.
 
If Dealers are allowed to post for sale threads in the Individual sales area (and I don't think they should be allowed to), at least limit it to one for sale thread. I'm really tired of seeing a seperate sales thread for every different model of knife they are selling.......:mad:

Agreed!!

Dealers have their own area to sale in, why venture over to the private sales??

I don’t recall seeing dealers post for sale ads in private sales area on BF. Why is there an exception??
 
I would rather the dealers that are selling Busses post them in the Busse sale forum. Infact... if this pissing and moaning gets it changed and we have to start checking multiple forums to see what Busses are available on the exchange, I'm gonna be pretty pissy myself.

The search issue is annoying I agree, but it is a seperate issue entirely.
 
I have never had a problem with any of the 'dealers'. Before or after they became one. I do agree it is a little disheartening to see a new guy come in and be immediately led astray. With that said, I have paid more for a knife just because I wanted the one in the picture NOW. So, I like the variety. I hear everything that you are saying, but yeah, I would say its not to hard to click to page two and continue on your search.

Also, I have no personal experience with LK, but the few times he had a knife that I was interested in he was more then accommodating to my requests. In the end I never purchased from him. Not because of him, but because he was honest enough to send me pics after pics upon my requests until I decided the knife wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

I feel like I am a big boy and can make my own decisions. But I know what you mean about new guys maybe not getting the big picture right from the start. If you want to talk about the big picture in the Busse world...yeah, we all understand how it works. I think it is genius.

If you feel a certain persons motives are corrupt by your standards, well maybe live and let live. When you see a new guy getting steered in the wrong direction, try to steer them in a direction you feel is correct.

All just food for thought. I certainly don't lose sleep over any of this, nor will I.

Also, to add, maybe I do not have the same passion as you about this. I may not really care enough. As bad as that sounds to say. I really don't.
 
Knife Hunter a.k.a. Trevor has an awesome selection and good prices--IF you're new and you are looking to buy a knife, make sure you look at what he has b4 making a decision. Dericsdemond is another good one--or you can call him Eric.
 
I wish all dealers were as honest, professional and caring as those in the Busse sales forum. However, I also don't want the Busse forum to degenerate to a pre-sales platform. The current status doesn't annoy me though.
 
Just to check out the current state of the search tool, and to see if putting knives that are not for sale in that thread into your sales thread (dealer or not) messed up your search...

1. go to search
2. select the "Busse Combat/Swamp Rat/ScrapYard Knives for Sale" in the "For Sale by Individuals" box
3. type in "ASH1" and go

I picked that knife at random just to see the results. Very interesting.

How is it a separate issue? One is caused by the other. It seems dealers are given carte blanche as far as rules go, and some in particular abuse this to no end. When I want a particular knife, I don't just scroll through the Busse section of the exchange, hoping to stumble upon it. I put it in the search engine and see what and where it pops up. It doesn't matter where the dealer is confined to, if you search, you'll find him. It is convenient to have all Busse sales confined to one area, but at least govern how its done. At least ask that dealers put all their knives in ONE thread. Why is that too much to ask? If they're going to link to all their sales in every thread they start anyway, what does it matter what section they're confined to? Post one for sale thread in the Busse section that acts as a link to the rest of your knives in the dealer section. That way, when I search "TANK BUSTER" in the Busse exchange, I get ONE thread by each dealer. If I choose to open it, I'm linked to all his other threads elsewhere.

And... its not just the section they sell in that's the sole issue. I'm only allowed to bump my for sale thread once every 72 hours. Dealers can post and link to multiple threads within threads in TWO different sections of the exchange. They bump one thread, and they've effectively bumped every one of them multiple times. Then, said dealer can go to the dealer section and bump the same thread in a thread again. The argument always comes up "well if I want a knife and I want it now, I'll go to a dealer and pay his price." Bull crap!!! I say. Generally you can always find at least one other person selling that knife. Now you've effectively given the advantage to the dealer because his for sale threads are spammed all over the G damned place.

Like I said, I'm just sick of the double standard. I don't lose sleep over it. I don't care too much once my browser is closed. Its just annoying that we're all here enjoying the use of and collection of Busse knives. We're supposed to be a community and you always have that one guy standing around handing out business cards.
 
The dealers membership isn't cheap,
That's why they get the perks...

5% PP fee does make me roll my eyes:p
