I'm too polite to be a Hog

Honestly I've been limiting my offers to people who have posted on the exchange or in the trade forum.

Now that I know I won't be thrown off the Island for asking, I'll definitely make a few "serious offers".

I respectfully disagree with this. Being polite or rude has nothing to do with getting INFI IMO. Being smart, realistic, persevering, thinking outside the box, and knowing what you want before you happen to trip over it all go much farther in obtaining INFI than being rude ever will. In fact, I think being rude (sort of elbowing your way to the front) will have the opposite affect.

I LOVE INFI, and maybe it is not true HOG behavior to say this, but I will never step on or over a fellow Busse fan to get to INFI first. I may try to run faster or take a shortcut :p , but I would sooner stop and help a Busse fan up than step on them on my way to the trough. That is NO victory.

And for anyone who wonders, yes, I have some very rare and desireable INFI. I never had to be rude to get it. Now where is the scotch???:confused:

I threw back one of the free FBM's at the company store a couple of weeks ago,
Because I knew it was a mistake. FREE FBM...Black and tan G10 if I am not mistaken...
Free INFI is far better than INFI you actually paid for! ;)
But I was to nice to Hog it up......I still feel a little ill:(

Until this week!!!
This week I have laid in a treasure chest FULL of INFI!
I had so many boxes on my porch that I thought I was dreaming and in one of JAXX's threads...:eek: :eek:

Here is my weeks worth...may be hard for a little piglet like me to top:D

I reposted it a while back and also added a newer version with all the stuff I sold blacked out, it was quite depressing.

As you know, I did not hit you up on anything in your un-edited pic.

BUT, I did use your pic with the blacked-out parts and compared it to your original just to see what you did get rid of. I did not do that though to know what you still have left, but rather to try and figure out in my own mind why you got rid of something in particular. Of course, only you know the real story behind your getting rid of that stuff, but it was fun to second guess.

When I post pictures or Guyon posts them for me on other forums. I do get PM offers and some are stupid. But heck it is the internet and you don't have to take an IQ test to post here. If you did the political forum on this site would be nearly empty.:foot: ;)
 
My Preference is to get Emailed.

PM box holds only 50 and fills to fast.

Bladeforums lets people send me emails and I got lots of room for emails.

Then I get phone numbers and save my typing fingers.

I do understand your post and how you feel. But don't let the forums get to you.

The Busse group is a great bunch, and what really helps is getting a chance to meet some of the other forumites. The internet is a poor way to communicate and sometimes things come across wrong. If you get a chance to attend any of the shows do your best to get there, then you'll have a better feeling for what people are really like. I have met hundreds of forumites and they are some great guys (and gals).

And there is still a lot of "helping out" that goes on, I've seen it. However, most of this takes place outside of public view.

Don't let any of the negative stuff bring you down. And thanks for posting your views

I've had folks come back way later and offer me a deal on a knife after I expressed interest. Someone just did so recently, in fact. Sometimes, I've been spread too thin to take the deal, but I always very much appreciated that they remembered me.

Likewise, when I tell folks that I'll get back to them if I decide to sell, I try to keep their names in a PM or email, and then make good on my word.

Tony G is still smarting from when I posted his circle of Wardens on the SY forum. He wound up getting offers like...

"I'll trade you my old reliable Kabar and three field dressed chickens for a Black Tie Warden."

"Sis ain't married yet. Cudja discount one of them thar' purty knives if I huk ya'll up?"

"I can give you a promisary on my left kidney (I already donated my right) if you'll send me a Tiger Warden."

"I have a Spyderco with the same sized blade. How about an even swap?"

"I have a VW Microbus that is nearly in good running condition. While you'd be getting the better deal, I'll trade you even for ten of those Wardens."

And please don't get me wrong... most here would and do go out of their way to help. There are several that have helped me... and I've helped a few along the way too. And yeah it's pretty much always been behind the scenes. But the greed mentality has been growing a bit... and for the most part I blow it off. I guess it's just been rubbing me the wrong way lately and I needed to get it off my chest. :o
